Just downloaded an emulator and FFIII. Hahaha, oh, US. I've just left Figaro, after Kefka's burninating, and I'm already loving this game. It's a little daunting, however, and it's a bummer that I can't just get a paper manual out and have a good read. To that end, you lot got any good tips? :D

Don't Jump off the floating continent, wait for Shadow

On a side note, this thread (http://home.eyesonff.com/general-archive/76549-tell-me-how-play.html)has become depressing

Don't die.

EDIT: Oh no, that amazing old thread is ruined due to hotlinking restrictions. Very sad. :(

Always look at clocks elixirs for free lol. I love getting them. Level up of course. Here is a link you might want to look at for some tips. Final Fantasy 6 / VI / FF6 - Tips & Tricks (http://www.uffsite.net/ff6/tips.php)

Straight up have no heart when talking to Banon. Seriously, no empathy; your heart should be a circuit board.

When all the images are gone, everything feels a bit empty.

Terra just went all Neo on us. After all I've done for her, as well...

My current party is Locke, for the occasional Steal, Edgar, for Tools, Sabin, for Blitz, and Celes, for healing. Locke uses the Genji Gloves and Black Belt, so will deal 300 - 800 damage per round, which makes up for his lack of offensive skills. Edgar is, of course, for confusing fools and dealing reasonable damage to all enemies, and his brother is for dealing massive damage to single enemies. Finally, Celes is just my stand in for Terra, though I may keep her. It depends how she fares in this excursion.

I bloody love this game.

Give Cyan the gauntlet so he can hold his sword with two hands, as a whole he'll be a much more useful party member. If you plan on using Gau, make sure you snagged "Stray Cat" for rages - It hits like a truck at mostly all levels. I always give Sabin Genji Gloves + two claws. You can snag two decent ones that do Holy damage in Jidoor. When you get to Presenter, keep spamming scan to make sure the head and shell die at the same time so you acquire two of the weapons it drops. That will completely trivialize the following boss fight.

I like to avoid upgrading Locke's Steal to Mug - Damage has potential to lessen the chance of stealing a good item.

For where you are now, uh...you can pick up Shadow in Kohlingen if you have three people in your party. Don't count on him sticking around for the long haul though. Zozo sucks, bring Edgar to use some Tools. Boss is easy mode. 06:10:50 is the time for the broken clock. The hints are totally ridiculous to figure this out on your own and they just tell you in the instruction booklet.

Locke is now wielding the Atma Weapon and Thief's Knife. There are better weapons than the Knife for him, but I just like it. Have yet to find a Gauntlet, though I intended to outfit Cyan with either it or the Genji Glove anyway. I'll keep your suggestion about Sabin in mind once the world goes tits up!

Since you're playing the SNES version, you can go to the weird triangle island on the world map and kill invisible enemies called Intangir. One hit with Doom will cheesily kill them and you can get some decent magic points.

Trying to kill them legitimately is hard as fuck and only recommended if you have every single idea what you are doing.

I remember the first time I played the game I was totally blown away just how big the game was. This is my favorite final fantasy game it was just so much fun I have whenever I play this game. The music, characters, visuals, etc just totally sweet. The story really grabbed me the most just how everyone had some personal connection to one another or different stories. Since you are playing the snes version I remember when it came out it was really expensive I think it was something like 60 dollars or something like that. Just as expensive as chrono trigger was. Ah the memories.

To get the most out of the battles I give all my characters Ribbon/Economizer when you make it that high. You'll find one of the characters doesn't care for Economizer.

Offering/Gengi Glove or whatever makes the battles boring. Vanish/Doom is also cheesy unless you play the modified version. Many relics/weapons/items/ect, become obsolete at higher levels obviously.

The Marvel Shoes tend to be the constantly good relic item. I steal Thundershields from Sterodites to create 14 Genji Shields via the collessuem. You can also get Genji Armors too but only 5 people can equip w/o the merit award.

I would have loved if there were more than 5 Genji Helmets but that's what Bard's hat is for. It gives you 10 more on MagicBlk I believe.

I've done so many things with the game I hope you enjoy it for as long as you can.

The magic "unhittable" number is 128% MBlock, right?

The FAQ should have it because we humans can't always remember FAQS off the top of our heads. I believe that's correct but I hope I'm not too honest about it.

My tip is just to sit back and enjoy the game without worrying much about what best to do with your characters. Many of the abilities are a bit cheap so the game isn't especially difficult; it just has an amazingly grim plot and if you don't know what WoR stands for then you are in for a freakin' TREAT!

Just relax... and play.
