BJ and I acquired a 10 pound turkey, so we're having Summer Thanksgiving tonight.

What's the nearest holiday in the country you're in? I think our next one is labor day, but I have no idea what that means.

Father's Day on Sunday, I usually take Dad out for lunch or something, I might see if The Dark Knight Rises is still out as well because he really likes the Batman movies xD

On a somewhat related note, I get to spend Halloween and Thanksgiving in the USA, two holidays that aren't celebrated over here, so I'm looking forward to that!

Labor Day is next week. Basically everyone gets a day off of school/work and you're not supposed to wear white after that.

Labor Day celebrates the working man by giving him a day off.

that most people who don't have college educations don't get. I've had labor day off maybe once in the 8 years I've been working.

The period July through October is pretty much devoid of holidays in Sweden. All Saints' Day (the poofter version of Hallowe'en) is the next thing on the calendar, I think, at the end of October/start of November. I plan to introduce Thanksgiving here though 'cause I like food. We can be thankful for being rich and having invented Minecraft and stuff.

Looking forward to not working on Labor Day, where we celebrate working by playing all day.

I wonder if I get time and a half on Labor Day... One of the downsides of working for Disney is that it never closes.

I don't even know. My university seems content with sending us to class everyday regardless.

That only applies to people with skin that gets really pale during the Fall and Winter seasons.

I also am really sad that Halloween is not ubiquitous. What does your version of The Nightmare Before Christmas orthe Kingdom Hearts games have? Like, Bastille Day themed characters?

Crikey mate! Basstill day? Is that named after the fish then?! They're bloody good catching, but I dunno why they'd have a holiday after em! Anyway, all holidays are shit compared to fuckin STRAYA DAY :bou::bou::bou::bou:!!

Labor Day is next week. Basically everyone gets a day off of school/work and you're not supposed to wear white after that.

That only applies to people with skin that gets really pale during the Fall and Winter seasons who give a fuck about some stupid social perception of "rules" in regards to this thing called "fashion" that has no real bearing on anything important in life whatsoever and is a complete waste of time and energy.

Fixed that for you :<3:

I have Monday off work to sleep until noon. Then it's back to work on Tuesday. I'll have fun on Halloween.

We just celebrated my grandmother's birthday, my dad's bday is next and my ma's after that. Those probably don't count as holidays so I'm gonna say Halloween even though no one from any part of my family really does anything about that holiday anymore.
