I've begun writing a fanfic placing the events of the VII Compilation somewhere around the second world war making ShinRa and SOLDIER part of the SS.

What part of history would you think best links to Final Fantasy II?

Given that it's about some nut trying to take over the world and populating it exactly as he pleases... I'd go with World War II for this one as well.

Or I could try to be witty and say the War of the Roses.
