View Full Version : Are there still open UK meetups? OFFICIAL PJ AND DUNCAN FAN THREAD

By "open" I'm referring to those like the one I attended back in 2007, though I know some of the "inner" circle that know each other better have met on other occasions.

Just curious, after seeing the thread by Jessweeeeeeeeeeee (bugger me but where the hell do I stop without the name in front as a reference?! Damn do I love your name!) and considering I've not been back for all that long (relative to when I joined) I can't say as I've been able to notice what EoFF's UK user-base does with regards to IRL socialisation these days.

Does it still happen? Are they still roughly the same month (i.e. April) each year?

Don't think anyone has actively tried to do one for a while. You should start one right now.

Do you mean "meet ups" or "meat ups" because it's an important distinction.

Also it's four 'e's, unless you are really excited about something, then it is a lot more.

Pork is like my least favourite meat next to ham. Poultry FTW.

Well I can't see why we couldn't all go to the usual place in Birmingham next April and do the usual shizznazz. I am thoroughly useless at event organisation though, so I don't know if I'd be the one for the task, plus I don't carry as much influence around here as some others.

Hrmm... I don't see why I can't do such a thing as make it summer instead of April. There is this very, very slight chance of my moving back to Stafford (which is like a thirty minute, very cheap train ride from Brummingham) so I wouldn't have many issues with that myself.

We shall have to see. I shall ponder the sayings in this thread and see if I think I can organise a meetup. Sealife Centre all over again would be awesome, as would Psy using me as a personal evil clone bodyguard ^^

I... whaaaaaa? The DOTG bit I somewhat remember but I've always made a point of wearing at least my socks when playing Guitar Hero. Keeping my feet warm and relatively safe from things on the floor is important to me.

Anyway, Grimsby would probably be good for me. If I were to time it with my housemate going home for the weekend I'd have a place to crash.

Aww, sorry Locky. Didn't mean to insult your friend's hometown. I was joking about going there though!

My friend is from Grimsby as well so we generally bombard him with fish jokes.

DK, I thought you were a City fan? Where are you?

It wasn't an insult, I made a joke too XD

Also to satisfy Shauna

I wasn't actually unhappy with the lack of plans. I was just being a butt. :3

I will have to travel for precisely a million years regardless of where/when it is so whatever is best for the rest of you guys. Heck, I can't even promise I will show.

I am indeed a City fan, I love them dearly. But I've lived in Cornwall for about 9 years now, right at the arse end as well. I'm about as far away from everywhere else in the country as one can possibly be. :shobon:What about your loyalty to Truro City FC?!

I'll do that if you pull me an Estonian woman seeing as how you're always bragging about your ability with the foreign ladies. :greenie:

PS: for those of you who would take this council estate ruffian seriously, I have actually never bragged about my pay "packet" (we're not americans here son)

Last time I pulled a very attractive Estonian woman (was spitting image of one of the mermaids in PoTC On Stranger Tides) you said you thought she was bloody ugly. So unless your taste in women dramatically improves I'm going to have a hard time doing this for you.

I see your council estate ruffian comment and raise you a slag heap. I might have lived in a council house growing up but I most certainly did not live on an estate of any sort I lived in a very quiet suburban avenue. If we're talking about the current residence? Well you have me at south london council estate but I'm private rent which is far superior to those council house ruffians... they can't afford private rent.

I beg to differ on the first count I personally found your mother to be a highly attractive woman. Yet even without counting her, there was Julie (yes she was a complete bitch but she was a hot bitch tbh), there was also Sarah (still not going to hear you say she is ugly mate. Not your type for sure but she's not an ugly girl)

As for the second count... I'm just going to laugh in your face at the prospect of me having never slept with a woman.

Also Quin I recently took a minor pay cut in terms of cash earnings to get a better job in terms of prospects moving forwards.

Does it matter? We're discussing a UK Meetup, not trying to debate whether or not Iceglow is a lady's man or whether the people he's dated are attractive or not. Why the smurf is it always about Iceglow? :greenie: Let's get back to the more interesting topics.

ALL DAY EVERY DAY

My votes, B, L, M.

With a 3, 2, 1 scoring system, we have, after me, Baloki and bubba voted:

Manchester: 7
Birmingham: 7
London: 4

Chip in, more of you!

With a 3,2,1 voting system I would say:

Top choice - London (guys, I know right!)
Second choice - Birmingham (we've been here, done this a fair few times it's also fairly even travel for most people)
Third choice - Manchester
Never Ever gonna happen - Swansea.

Come to Kendal Beer Festival on Thursday :D

I'd consider Manchester. But I've not been "active again" for long here so I dunno if shyness and stuff would get in the way.
