There are a lot of real world references in Final Fantasy VII. What's your favourite?

As an extra topic of discussion, do you think this is the real Mona Lisa?

Oh wow, never come across that one before. It would have to be fake; FF7 isn't even set on Earth.

Maybe this was the original, and Da Vinci copied it. Maybe OUR Mona Lisa is the fake.

I think it is clearly real. If you look closely, you can see that it has that one identifiable pixel that marks it as authentic Da Vinci. It's there. Trust me. :jiro:

But no it was clearly stolen by the Shinra. They were going to send it into space, but, uh, yeah...

If I've witnessed that scene, I was likely so confused as to the barking mad hell Tifa was talking about that I ended up dismissing it from memory. From that angle, that portrait looks more like Tower Piza.

Best real world reference in FFVII? Either the My Bloody Valentine - Loveless poster, or the Shinra cannon being called the Sister Ray.

Gotto be the part where Cloud found Tifa's underwear. I wasn't expecting anyone from the FF VII world to be wearing underwear. :bigsmile:
