II Places and groups

[The following articles will all be added later
Shinra Academy
One of the first buildings built by Shinra after the destruction of Midgar, Shinra Academy is the finest learning center on the planet, and is available for free to any child living in Midgar. Studies include Engineering, Medicinal studies, mathematics, computer technologies, business schooling, and extracurricular activities. The academy is free up through the high school level, and only recently has the school began to charge for higher learning. Covering almost a square mile, Shinra Academy is also the largest school on the planet. Almost every gil Rufus Shinra had after he lost his company went into creating this facility.

New Shinra
Although the Shinra Electric Power Company was never officially shut down, thirteen years ago, Rufus Shinra founded the New Shinra, a partner to Barret Shale. Dedicated to providing energy for Midgar while protecting the planet, New Shinra is a completely legitimate business. Over the last few years, the company has begun to look at water and sunlight as power sources, although as of yet, they haven't released any results. New Shinra's main office is located on the outskirts of Midgar in the town of Rahles. The facility houses over 2000 employees, and is the second tallest structure on the planet.

Hunters Guild
Formed twelve years ago, the hunters guild is the unofficial world military force. Although there are no wars at this point in time, the threat presented by monsters has grown since the downfall of Shinra, and the Hunters guild provides a free service, funded by donations from companies the world over. Although the hunters guild has a clear Hierarchy, the identity of the General is not public knowledge. The Hunters Guild retains bases in Rahles, Junon, Wutai, Kalm, Rocket Town, the Golden Saucer, Nebleheim, and Costa Del Sol, with a large carrier as their home base. The Hunters Guild has at least ten airships, which they use to accurately drop off soldiers at their destinations.

Materia Corps
A special branch of soldiers often associated with the Hunters Guild, although they are a separate organization, the Materia Corps provide magical backup for the Guild, and also send healers out to areas where they are needed. The members of the Materia Corps enjoy their privacy, and not much is known about them except that most members appear to be from Wutai. The location of their headquarters is unknown.

New Midgar
A city built on the Northern Continent, currently under construction, although it already has over fifty thousand residents, it is build much the same as the original Midgar however there are no lower plates. Osamayu Inc has it's main office here, and is the sole energy provider for the whole city. New Midgar is clean, safe, and shielded from the rest of the world.

Junon
The Junon slums have prospered thanks to a young woman named Pricilla, who is currently the mayor of the city, and the city has lost its military feel, becoming a more laid back and relaxed city. Thanks to the resorts built near where the slums used to be, Junon has grown faster than any other city, beating out Costa Del Sol as the most desirable place to live in last years polls.

Golden Saucer
The Golden Saucer entered a decline after the events revolving around Meteor, and then it's stock dropped even further when owner Dio breifly changed the name to the Platinum Plate, thankfully he was convinced to change the name back within a few months. The Saucer has regained its former glory and even added some new areas, including a residential area and airship dock.

Rahles
A small town rapidly growing just outside old Midgar, Rahles is the location of both New Shinra and the Strife Corperation. The current population is over twenty thousand, with an estimated 100,000 residents by the end of next year.

Kalm- Kalm has grown somewhat due to the immigration of refugees from Midgar years ago, however, when compared to other cities, it is still small.

Northern Crater
After many lost their lives trying to find materia or prove themselves a hero in the deeps of the Northern Crater, twelve barrier materia were arranged around it to prevent entry by unauthorized personnel. Only people with high influence and excavation teams are allowed inside. A small colony of thirty people maintain the barrier materia.

Osamayu Inc.
The only major competitor to New Shinra, the company is the sole energy provider for new Midgar, and provides electricity for most of the Northern Continent. Founded right after the events of Advent Children, the company remains shrouded in mystery. Instead of mako energy, the company uses thermal turbines located underground to generate energy. Although efficient, apparently being assigned to maintenance of turbines is the most dangerous job there is. Osamay Inc retains a small security force in New Midgar.

Barret Shale
Founded by Barret Wallace, Barret Shale is the number one provider of oil on the planet. Years ago, Barret Shale formed a partnership with Shinra to bring energy to the people of the world without hurting the planet.

Update
Chapter one sucked, so I'm going to rewrite it and give you the other two thirds of it. Also, deleted scenes and art coming to the glossary soon.

I have decided that you guys deserve a good story, not some poorly written peice of trash with a good core. Thus from this moment on, I am going to try to post only in this forum, mafia, and competition threads, and nothing else until completed. I will see you soon.
