Being the first Final Fantasy, it is only natural that it is the shortest game of the series! But did you know that the game has been beaten in times as fast as 5 hours? Indeed with proper strategy, skill, and memory this game can easily be beaten in one (fairly long) sitting! Olympians, bring honor and glory to your respective FF by beating FFI the fastest of all EoFFers! In order to have your time qualify you must post a picture of you right after you are done choosing your team, and a picture of your final time right before Chaos. This will make you eligible for the first Gold medal of this event. BUT! There are two, that medal is for the fastest time and can be won even after someone else has finished, if you finished faster. Being the first to post a picture of your team defeating Chaos awards a DIFFERENT gold medal, for first to beat Chaos! For this event you'll have a whopping 15 days to finish the game! After that times are finalized and a winner is announced!

72 minutes in-game time
Just entered Earth Cavern
Level 14 all around
Face was KO'd in one battle so is roughly one battle behind in the levelling up
Equipment is costing me almost nil thanks to chests and Monks
Magic is only real outlay except for Inns and Antidotes thus far

Oh I'm going to see it through, it's just annoying that the Earth Cavern was so fucking hard. I don't have any target all magic for general damage - only Dia - and yet I keep getting hit with groups of 5-9 enemies all the fucking time. Stone is a whore of a status effect and why the fuck does sleeping at an inn not cure statuses? GODDAMMIT. I'll make it to the finish line, I swear to god.

xD I feel your pain, what's worse is when you can't run from the hoards of the bird things that cause stone. Sometimes I would have to stop playing it for a while because I was getting so frustrated. We are so spoiled now in games with so many save opportunities too. Goodness. :irked:

It may not have the best time but I'll be tackling Choas again soon. AND MY WHITE MAGE BETTER NOT DIE AGAIN :mad2:

Maybe it's not as bad as I thought. 3:23 and I'm ready to take on the Ice Cavern. Tossing up whether to go for class upgrades or not. It would save me some time, but I don't know if Chaos is realistically defeatable. Is defeating Chaos first worth more than second in the race?

EDIT: 4:04 at the Sunken Shrine... Don't know if I can get to Chaos faster now. Managed to upgrade though, so if I keep going right now, I might just win the other gold medal.
