Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix Announced (PS3)

If you didn't know, the annual Tokyo Game Show is going on right now. Lately, the show has been more and more about mobile games, but we still occasionally get new(ish) game announcements. Like this one.

Revealed in Famitsu magazine, this PS3 collection includes HD versions of KH Final Mix and Re: Chain of Memories. It also has all the cutscenes from KH 358/2 days re-made in HD for your viewing pleasure.

It's set to come out in Japan next year. TGS has just started, so keep an eye out for more news on the various Square Enix franchises.

So, is this more or less a way for the handheld titles/spin-offs to be made accessible on console? Even if you're not doing the combat in between, you can actually see what went on in the other games that got Kingdom Hearts to Kingdom Hearts 2?

I never played KH2, but I hear if you didn't play some of the handhelds, it's really confusing.

If it's just the voiced cutscenes from Days, it will feel disjointed, and if its every cutscene, then hopefully they edited the actuak game talk like "This is your mission Roxas...". I honestly would have loved a remake of Days cause it's a great entry in the series if flawed thanks to the DS' limitations.

Kingdom Hearts 1.5 also has the updated version of Chain of Memories in it. That Europe/ Australia didn't get and that I haven't had a chance to play yet.

To those who live in Europe this would of been more than just a remake, it would of given us a chance to experience something that only the US and Japanese have played and we're sadly been snubbed out on. Twice.

This doesn't seem fair. KH has a huge fanbase in America, and it would be profitable to maake it in english. They'd only have to do it once for 3 countries.

Chain of Memories was never released in Europe? That seems like quite an oversight.

EDIT: Well, according to wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_hearts_chain_of_memories) it was released in PAL regions in 2005.

First you guys take Kotaku seriously when they say Final Fantasy Versus XIII was cancelled, and now you're taking Gematsu as gospel? Man, it's like you all just got an internet connection. :p

Assuming it gets released here, I'd probably buy it, but it seems silly to me that they're doing KH and KH: CoM but not even KHII. I assume that will come along later with Birth By Sleep.

^ Considering the only KH special edition title SE has ever released outside of Japan was RE:CoM (sold at full game price whereas it was free with KHII Final Mix in Japan) I would say there is pretty much some major clout of the HD Remake never leaving the land of the rising sun.:p

It doesn't help SE is pretty much notorious for not releasing most of their special edition games outside of Japan despite the base model being the English copy. The only exception is pretty much FFX International Edition and that was only released in Europe besides Japan.
