I've seen the hour hand on a clock move, it's just very subtle. Granted, this was on a clock where the hour hand was limited to some number of discrete positions (probably 720) rather than being continuously in motion.

I remember watching movies on VHS and they'd have some noise at the beginning that kind of sounded like a phone being dialed. I thought this was the VCR calling the actors in the movie and telling them to come perform the movie while standing behind my TV.

I remember a Lost-like TV show on CBBC about some kids on a school trip to Australia. Weird shit happens involving aliens or something, I don't remember. It was full of twists and turns and was really gripping when I was young.

It was also shite. In hindsight it was awful but as I kid I couldn't wait for the series to explain what was going on.

She wasn't a real smurf. Gargamel made Smurfette to infiltrate their town so he could spring a trap then eat them. So Smurfette was evil in the beginning, but Papa Smurf's magic made her good or something. (http://bluebuddies.com/help/smurfette_created_by_gargamel.htm)

There was another show on CBBC about this underground water facility and this weird alien chick who had a whale for a friend.

Grandpa Smurf was the oldest living smurf, who returned to the group after a ~500 year long absence. The little red-haired smurf girl was Sassette, who was created by the other Smurflings. So she wasn't "real" either. She also has freckles
