I don't really like the idea of flirting, if only for the reasons BoB posted earlier, though I could go on explaining how many levels of wrong such a task would be. I also don't think posting on EoEO is a good idea, since that thread is about personal issues and giving genuine advice and/or support, and not just going in and posting "I'm so sorry for you", or "lol wut" which would be enough for General Chat. I think the topics touched upon there may be too important for some people and us just dropping in to have that one Goddamn post there seems simply inappropriate...

As for XI - I would love that, if only I could afford to play it. :( That is the biggest issue here. I think the tasks should be accessible to everybody.

Good points. I think the kind of people who post in EO (much like similar places I post at) quite often just want someone/anyone to acknowledge them and show that they care. BUT if they're blatantly just going in wanting a free poster it can be far too fake. Reason for suggesting it was to try and get a few more involved in looking out for each other (because I see this as a much bigger thing than a free poster competition, it's a great "excuse" to really engage the community and is getting me for one a lot more involved in the hopefully longer term.. winning the poster would just be the cherry on top), but I guess, yeah, very valid point. It won't work that way for everyone, and could potentially be harmful.

Agreed on flirting. As a joke idea, LOL :p And to be honest I assume it IS a joke.

As a serious idea, erm no. IMO there's nothing wrong with a bit of harmless flirting between adult friends (should see me on some other sites, haha) so long as no-one signals possible discomfort with it obviously. But forcing it would be uncomfortable for all involved. Plus it's a legal can of worms if anyone (inadvertently or otherwise) ends up flirting with someone underage.

Endorsed flirting is almost as bad as taking things to EoEO for this. It's not genuine, and even if it is, it might not be positively received. I might look somewhat hypocritical saying this as I like to think of myself as a smooth talker of sorts but it's important to make sure you're on good terms with people before you start going up to them! Let's keep everything fun, light hearted and free from potentially upsetting people. We want everyone to post here and have a good time :aimsun:

That is how it's supposed to work. Note the word supposed, we've had some linking issues in that past our developers have worked on so if you see comments appearing on one but not the other feel free to let me know.

Not too late, although you're on the last day you can still do Day Fourteen's tasks to improve your chances of getting a poster. Obviously you'll be at a disadvantage in the draw compared to those that have done every task, but your odds will still be better than 127 of the 162 people who have applied prior to you. :p

I am a member of a specific area of the Eyes on Final Fantasy staff, yes. I'm not a very popular member of the Eyes on Final Fantasy staff :greenie: You should be sure to get accurate sources when dealing with the staff, they can be tricky folks. I can't say whether any staff members are getting posters automatically or not; it's not something I'm privy to. I do know that we have some pretty kickass frontsite content that you should all read and comment on, though!

One thing I've always loved about EoFF is that we talk about things rationally, even when arguments get really heated. Lately, I'll be going to other areas of discussion, and all I see is people complaining over trivial trout.

I might not comment all that much, but on the internet, this site is like a Haven. Thank you all, and I hope to comment more frequently.
