I can't. My hands shake so my penmanship in general is awful. :cookie:

So how's your writing/drawing skills?

Jowy

godawful.

My regular handwriting is nice and completely legible and my regular penmanship (cursive) is a bit fancy yet still completely legible.

I bought a fountain pen a few years ago and studied penmanship because it was interesting, so :greenie: but it wasn't bad before that either. Only my cursive changed a bit.

I can't draw worth a lick, but my handwriting is pretty darn good.

I had insanely good penmanship when I was in high school. Now it looks like I write with my toes.

the quality goes downhill when i haven't written much in a long time (such as now) but usually creeps back up if i have to write a lot for any reason (this happened when i was still in school)

My penmanship is pretty good. I still get a lot of practice with it. I bring a notebook nearly everywhere I go. I just like writing out my creative endeavors first instead of just typing it (even though a lot of it ends up on a computer eventually).

My drawing is just okay. I'm sure if I practiced a looottt more I'd be decent, but I'm not that motivated. xD

My handwriting is perfectly adequate, but my drawing skills have diminished somewhat over the years.

I think I have nice handwriting. I see a lot of horrible handwriting on a daily basis though. :|

People tell my I have really pretty handwriting. Sometimes it's just shit, but only if I'm being lazy. I like my handwriting, because it's pretty unique. I loop and carry over a lot of letters.

My signature is horrible, though. Sadly, with the letters in my name, I just can't make it pretty.

Shauna

My handwriting is atrocious. I don't mind so much, it's still readable to myself and others. It's all good.

Handwriting? Please, I print mother fuckers.

And by print I mean my printing has taken on some bastardized form where it's not really printing because I don't lift my pen/pencil, but it's not really handwriting because it doesn't use those silly fancy letters they taught us in elementary school. Despite being sloppy as hell though, it is completely legible if you aren't someone with even worse handwriting that hasn't seen a properly formed letter in a decade or two.

Yes. Handwriting is the local slang for cursive. Don't you know anything Tifa's Boobs?

Iceglow

my handwriting went right downhill when I barely had to write anything out, now I'm constantly there with a notepad making notes when I get troublesome calls at work or when I'm whiling away the time between calls. My handwriting is improving dramatically again, I recently re-discovered my ability to write incredibly small on the page whilst still making it clearly legible to the most blind of people (excluding my housemate Fi who is so blind she makes a mole look positively like it's got eagle vision).

Since when? Handwriting and cursive are different for me. :p Cursive is the fanciest of handwriting.

Also I have a signature which looks nothing like letters.

Shorty
10-12-2012, 05:44 PM
The S in my signature can be made out. Everything else is just scribbles.

My handwriting is extremely rushed, sloppy and loopy. Also, I can't write in a straight line to save my life.

My handwriting is pretty sloppy. And considering that almost everything I've handwritten in the past 7 years has been notes that only I need to read, I have had no incentive to make it more legible. It's about convenience and speed.

Jiro
10-13-2012, 12:39 AM
I do lots of notes and idea spitballing on paper which is, y'know, alright. Not the nicest but it's mostly legible. But fuck man my hand hurt yesterday during that exam, trying to write that quickly and consistently was killing me.

10-13-2012, 04:43 PM
Learning cursive crippled my handwriting ability. I went back but all that was left was arthritic scribbles and big spaces between each word. It's been this way for a very long time now and I'm looking for help.

Jiro
10-16-2012, 03:13 AM
You know what's even faster than cursive? Shorthand. Why not go all the way and just learn how to mentally make words appear on the page!

They used to drill cursive into our heads pretty much up until high school. Then all of a sudden they stopped caring.

I was taught cursive in like 3rd grade, then no one forced anything on us. My handwriting has developed into a part cursive part print mishmash

Pumpkin
10-17-2012, 05:46 PM
They taught us cursive in grade 2 and 3 and told us it was mandatory and we would need to know it. Well they lied. I don't personally know anyone who writes exclusively in cursive. I mean sure we can all do it if we wanted to, but no one really cares enough to do it. Plus it's usually harder to read people's writing if it's in cursive.
