I wouldn't say it's more tactical or faster than FFX or X-2, but rather, it's the same thing more streamlined. You input less control, but you're still reacting to different situations to call in the jobs you need.

It is definitely not more tactical than Final Fantasy X. FFX was slower, and required deliberate forward planning. I abused Delay Attack in order to maximise my attacking potential.

It is faster than Final Fantasy X-2, but only marginally. It's far more flashy though, which helps.

"Almost" as seamless as Final Fantasy XII doesn't cut it. It's not almost as seamless. Final Fantasy XIII disguises its transitions but they're there and they are not nearly as seamless.
