A forum with a swear filter is probably not the best place to discuss this series, but oh well!
I watched what appears to have been the final episode this evening. If that old adage about leaving the stage with the audience wanting more is true, then I definitely wanted more. Although it tied up some threads (e.g. with Stewart and Glenn), it left others (Malcolm, in particular) on such a cliffhanger.
The programme itself is without a doubt my favourite television series of the past decade. The scriptwriting is genius, the characters very believable and it appeals to the political nerd in me. I'm not normally a fan of excessive swearing, but I think the sheer artistry of Malcolm Tucker's cursing is so hilarious I actually rather like it.
If you haven't watched it, you definitely should. Check out In The Loop first maybe.
As a bonus topic - what's your favourite quote? One of my personal favourites was from one of the specials:
Peter - "This is the trouble with the public, they're smurfing horrible."
Emma - "Peter, you can't say the public are smurfing horrible."
Peter - "Yes, I can, I've met them"
