Report: Majority Of Americans Now Eating One Continuous Meal A Day | The Onion - America's Finest News Source (http://www.theonion.com/articles/report-majority-of-americans-now-eating-one-contin,30141/)

While this story is satire, it's not far from the truth. Almost every activity that people in the US enjoy is accompanied by food: watching movies, going to sporting events. Hell, even theatres now have concession areas where you can eat food outside during intermission.

Food is not the problem. People without self-control is.

Fat is not so much the prob, compared to laziness.

Damn. People are lazy.

I think a combination of principles and lifestyle choices have created a mess in the states. Americans are constantly barraged with advertisements that try to sell food and commodities to make their lives easier. And when they're not having these advertisements thrown in their face, they're watching TV, which is mostly garbage depicting the lives of people with money who have nice comfort items and eat expensive foods all day(which are subtly promoted throughout the show)... OR the lives people who are poor and trying to become rich in order to avoid the social stigmas that are attached to being poor and not having all the fancy things that the rich people have.

Another thing that I've found very confusing is the various prices between food categories. An american can get a double cheeseburger and a fry at most McDonald's locations for a couple dollars, if you don't include the soft drink. If you were to go buy a couple small packages of, let's say, strawberries and raspberries, along with some vegetables to make a meal out of - you'd be looking at close to 10 dollars for that little trip to the store. So I think a lot of people choose to go to a fast food place because the food is already prepared for you and it's cheaper by far. Not only that, but it's high in calories, fat, and all those other things that your body likes to have and makes you want more of. At least to me, this seems completely backwards from how it should be. On another level, this certainly effects the businesses that deal in farming, and the sale of produce, which I feel bad for.

I've been practically starving myself lately so obviously I'm leading a healthy and active lifestyle.

I've been on a diet and it makes me go crazy. I take a walk every day, but I eat small meals, and I really just want to eat a bunch of chicken wings and pumpkin pie and brownies and CHILI DOGS AND MAC N' CHEESE OH GOD
