I was very under-handed and devious, and did game the system. I feel no shame in that but I also willingly admit I took it a bit too far and it wasn't fair. Still, Del repeatedly got back into the game for the specific purpose of duelling me. You all bloody wanted me to duel him. You can't blame a man for doing what you asked - demanded - of him.

Personally I wouldn't investigate myself unless I got a guilty result and none of my other results have died yet. Why waste a turn? Having an investigated townie die can work just as well for confirmation of your sanity.

Your investigation on night 1 if it turns up guilty and youre right, then youre lucky. Why not just use your night to verify yourself so you can help the town while youre alive. I've been the cop enough.times now (im sick of it really) that I know, if you play it right, dont role claim or be too obvious, you can usually survive a long while. sometimes you never die! So job your death verification would never happen.

Well, I think technically I may have been a cop in Dynasty Warriors mafia, but they delayed that game 'til I was on vacation and I only ever made one post. I vaguely remember Jen spamming me with angry messages about something "I" had done.

If you investigate yourself on Night 1 and die on Day 2 or Night 2 then you were pretty useless to the town. If you investigate another person on Night 1 and make a hint in your post about your result at least you were of some use if you died unexpectedly.

I would never investigate myself until about night 3 or 4 and even then only if I had gotten some guilty result(s).

Also I want to point out something. I never had any vendetta or agenda when going after people. I only targeted Noctis for the 'showdown' because he's a dangerous player and was pretty much claiming Bulletproof throughout that day (a dangerous and powerful role). With a Mindsmurf game that has a probable Tracker (and therefore a Ninja likely) I thought this claim didn't make sense. My guess was a SK or Godfather who are also night kill immune. So I wanted to put some fear into him that he was still not safe even if Blank turned out bad. After Blank was the Godfather I realized I was wrong. But it was too late since it appears the Ninja knifed him before any more could be said.

Then it spiraled out of control and I'm not proud of how it ended up because people still won't drop it. But that was my reasoning. It was always about helping the town win and never personal. Psy knows this, but he's a butt who doesn't leave things alone. The rest of you, though, may not know it so I wanted to clear the air.

I play mafia to win. Not to kill Psychotic. If both goals are the same then that's just a bonus.

Any game with Bulletproof that does not have some other way to night kill that player is incredibly broken. I gave Jiro the benefit of the doubt not to do that. I guess I didn't seriously consider Hider. Nexus is stupid though, and also breaks a game easily, but I guess it would be perfect for a mindsmurf. I had a reverse Nexus in my game after all. :D

You'll note that the rules this time encouraged roleplaying. We've played a lot of these games now, and it can get very repetitive unless you try to switch things up from time to time!

This late in the game, a cop really should have claimed. A cop shouldn't claim right away, but they definitely should if they got a positive result and the town is going in a different direction. Not everyone will pick up on your hints, and in fact a savvy mafia player may be the only one who notices. I don't go through threads looking for Cop hints because mafia could do that too. In fact, it's easier for mafia to get away with that kind of BS.

However, in late game (Day 6 or so) I always feel everyone should claim because it will put the pieces together and will give the mafia a hard time trying to figure out what their roles would need to be in order to appear consistent.

Welp, I did my best. Town is pretty borked at this point, but we did what we could. I played horribly as Biggs but I think I redeemed myself as Rikku, giving us a fighting chance for a while. That Gunsmith role really needed to be played from the beginning. It was key. Same with JailKeeper. A pretty powerful role during endgame to be stuck on an inactive player. Too many damn inactives in this game.

This was one of the most fun mafia games I have ever played, Jiro. Thanks for putting it together and letting me come back in three times.

Congrats to whoever wins but I'm hoping for a miracle by the town.

It would have been funnier if Wedge was killed instead of Cid and Jiro threw one more account at me. :p

My final opinion on the survivors:

Leon: Plays a very good game and should be happy with himself. Despite not really being noteworthy at the start, as the game drew on he really shined as an outstanding player.

Faris: Obvious scum, but still could win if she chooses correctly. This is literally 50/50. Throughout the game, the tracker role-claim played well to her favour. I'm impressed.

Wedge: By Jove he's still here. Despite not having the best track record as cop, he's still here. As much as I mock him and his lack of reports, he is still an amazing player and I commend him for lasting this long.

Who will win? For me, town has the upper hand despite having a slow start and making a myriad of mistakes. If Faris does chose correctly, then what happens? It's 1 scum vs 1 town. Is it just declared a ceasefire?

I agree, and now I understand Jiro's frustration and why he kept throwing accounts at me. For a two-team 4-mafia each setup you really need a ton of town power roles for it to be balanced. And we had that, except half of them were inactive for part of the game.

I do think the town would have had this one easily if all these roles were played. I mean, Cid alone could have prevented a bunch of deaths with his role. Jiro really threw us a bone by randomizing the inactive account night actions. It led me to Penelo and also probably saved my ass a couple times.

It was pretty tough to learn to play Mafia with a role madness game, but I think I was starting to get the hang of it towards the end.

Still, I might have got the hang of it in time to be useful if the town early on had said things like "Your ideas don't make any sense because X, Y, and Z" instead of "Your ideas are stupid and so are you." But then I wouldn't have thought of the Havelock gambit and I'd have had a lot less fun, so it worked out well for me if not for the town.
