Disgruntled Americans threaten to move to Canada after Obama victory | Canada Politics - Yahoo! News Canada (http://ca.news.yahoo.com/blogs/canada-politics/disgruntled-americans-threaten-move-canada-obama-victory-062354107.html)

Dear Americans threatening to move to Canada because your guy lost your election,

We don't want you.

Love,

Canada.

Seriously, if I can put up with 13 years of that smug, smegma-slurping sphincter Chrétien, a country with a term cap can suck it up and soldier on.

On the other hand, since this time (Unlike when the other side did the same thing after Dubya won) the majority of the would-be emigrées are fundamentalist psychopaths, might I suggest Iran? Mahmoud I'mmadatmydad reportedly likes that kind of person passing well.

I loved the response they got from Australia. xD

It's worth noting that I think moving away from America is a wonderful idea and I wish you would all do it.

Australians don't want them either. The bogans can go with them and form their own super conservative paradise somewhere under the ocean.

The Jalapeno popper crowd is going to Mexico, I hear.

The problem with this joke is that sites will go around listing "LOOK AT ALL THESE TWEETS FROM STUPID PEOPLE WHO WANT TO MOVE TO CANADA LOL" and then you go to those actual people's twitter accounts and 99% of them were obviously joking. But everyone takes it seriously and then the jokers get hammered with abusive tweets.

Yes I'm a party pooper.

It always cracks me up when people threaten to move to places with universal health care because Obama expanded our government's involvement in health care.

But seeing people who hate Obama because of Obamacare threatening to move to countries with socialized healthcare completely blows the prior out of the water.

Yeah. I could see people who hated Bush wanting to move to a semi-socialist country and not being hypocrites. But people who hate Obama? The Obama brand of "socialism" has got nothing on us.

Unhappy voters in 33 states sign petitions to secede from U.S. after election | syracuse.com (http://www.syracuse.com/news/index.ssf/2012/11/petitions_secede_united_states_secession.html)

Whine, whine, whine. One would think that grownups could lose without throwing a temper tantrum.

One would think that, but one would apparently be wrong.

I always felt the appropriate reaction to losing an election was just to say fuck a bunch of times and get on with your life.

Unless you move to Quebec anyway. New Brunswick would be a bad choice as well. You know, assuming you wanted a job. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Canadian_provinces_by_unemployment_rate#Unemployment_by_province.2Fterritory)

But yes, it is funny to run to Canada to get away from socialism.

The rest of the Maritimes seems to look pretty good compared to my province apparently. I knew unemployment was bad here, but didn't realize it was that bad, and that much worse than the rest of the Maritimes. 2% is quite a difference.

...I miss Canada.

It's November. You have to wait until Spring at least to miss Canada. It's only going to get colder here before it gets better.

Not by my standards, but other people seem to start complaining as soon as things dip below 0 degrees. Meanwhile I still walk around in t-shirts and leave my coat unzipped.

To be fair, it is probably my neck of the woods that gives it such a high rate. Northern New Brunswick is pretty shitty in that sense. GORGEOUS if you like nature. Shitty if you like having a life.

Yes, move to Quebec where the current Premier is so anti-anglo it is not even funny. Ironically, Montreal elected its first English mayor in over a century. O-o;

I actually get cold pretty easily now but it's not really that bad.

I remember we used to get blizzards at this time of the year though.......hasn't happened for a while.
