I'm sure there's been a thread like this, but I'm making another one. Here's the setting.

All the active EOFF members are stuck on an 10 hour car ride together. How do you know if you're an active member? You've read this thread and responded to it, dummy. That's how.

10 hours is a long time to sit in uncomfortable silence, but we're all social malcontents and wouldn't be able to talk to each other face to face. Plus we need something to distract us from the overwhelming smell of feet and ass that all nerds produce. You've all been to ComicCon or something, so I know you've smelled nerds in large groups. I think it's a pheromone. Maybe the stench of fear.

Anyway, we each have 15 minutes of radio time, so choose how you would fill yours up! Remember, you're scared because it's the first time you've been out of your mom's basement in 5 months, and the sun burns upon your alabaster flesh. Your daily ritual of facebook, youtube, alcohol, crying, gaming, and Netflix has been disrupted. You need something familiar. What is/are your go to song(s)?

They don't have to be played back to back, but they can be set up like that if you wish.

On Impulse (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbE3x0sThPU) 6:10

Listen Up (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrGe_kJHShI)
6:40

The Noise (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uiRma6CE3SY)
2:02

I used 14:52, so the next person can have my 8 seconds.

EDIT: I probably should have mentioned before, but for those who didn't, go back and mention track times, then total elapsed time. Part of the fun/annoyance is not going over your 15 minute limit, and letting the next person know what they're working with.

Well, first up I'm going to play Wannabe by the Spice Girls, because you know, GIRL POWER.

YO I TELL YA WHAT I WANT WHAT I REALLY REALLY WANT
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJLIiF15wjQ 3:57

Then I'd probably go from that to some more 90's coolness in the form of Favourite Game by The Cardigans
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JsMUQK4jdsQ 3:44

And then B 52's Love Shack because we should allll sing it really loud with the windows down
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8NhJNpQlsY 4:17

Then more Spice Girls, because you can never have enough Spice Girls, can you?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ro0FW9Qt-4 3:53

15 minutes and a few seconds over... ahem...

A good road trip song by one of my favoriter bands. Probably best to be played early on when we're still enthusiastic about the road trip. :p
Going Mobile - The Who - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQ5pi3UR5dY) - 3:48

While not my favorite song by them, if you try hard enough some of the lyrics can be twisted into being road trip-ish. "before we get lost in a blink of an eye" :p
Alkaline Trio - Into the Night - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwW_mF0hcJo) - 3:23

My favorite song. :)
Pink Floyd - Hey You - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ndYEdGd8Gs4) - 4:45

And just a random Alkaline Trio song that's exactly how long I have left.
Alkaline Trio - Dethbed - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MpPJ7vgeMMg) - 3:04

BTBAM are so annoying! They produce such awesome music, but ruin it with the vocals (don't get me wrong, I love screaming but just not like that..)

My mixtape:
Solitary Shell - Dream Theater (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FVp2rw1BFQ) 5.49 (Had to find a short enough track for them xD)

Lost For Words - Pink Floyd (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPwucFar9kM) 5.15 (Likewise to the above)

Okay, I used 14:52
Lockhearted use 15:53 :stare:
NCG used 15:15
Krissy used 14:28
Futan used 15:00
Bert used 4:10
Araciel used 14:30
IDAN used 15:14

We have used 1 hour, 49 minutes, 25 seconds......maybe. My math is always suspect.

I'm stealing time because I bothered to add it all up, so I get an extra song.
>:] Plus Bert left a big opening.

Older Crowd (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n64rR8reDmI) 3:19

Added to Bert's 4:10, that makes 7:29. So that's 1 hour, 50 minutes, and 44 seconds.

The next person gets an extra 7:31 to work with!

EDITED: Well, shorty and FOA snuck in there, so just add their amounts to the running total.

Sephex used 14:29

So far altogether we are 2 hours, 57 minutes, and 57 seconds in. Which means we are currently 2 minutes and 3 seconds under limit for having 12 different people adding in.

1: Duke Ellington - Rockin' in Rhythm (3:00) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHriPTmPe-M)

2: Stratovarius - Night Time Eclipse (7:55) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9-ZX3flJIg)

3: Cole Porter - Anything Goes (3:07) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17ZWrcL9Dz0)

I was going to use Iiro Rantala's trout Catapult (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bdSfmYdJ8o) but that would have been way too much :greenie:

Anyway after adding in mine, which is a total of only 14:02, we are now 3 minutes and 5 seconds under limit for anyone who wants to use extra time.

Yoko Kanno - Innocent Green (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q41gPYrK_3k&feature=my_liked_videos&list=LLqDAV5Y6wfOtgQ7lyOICx-g) 2:49

I'd be tempted to list a load of vidyagame tracks but I know that's not everyone's taste!

If Denmark is in the car my entire 15 minutes will be Bon Jovi songs.

Otherwise - I'll be the one that provides all the Road Trip keystone tracks along with the other ultimate sing-a-longs:

1 - Journey - Don't Stop Believin' (Live in Houston) - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcjzHMhBtf0)
2 - Bon Jovi - Livin' On A Prayer - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDK9QqIzhwk)
3 - Tony Christie - (Is This The Way To) Amarillo - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqLLDZvbG-U) (okay this isn't as much of a staple track but still...)
4 - Lion king - In the jungle the mighty jungle - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_eYoGMCZqU) (nor this, but it's so feel good)
5 - Europe - The Final Countdown - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jK-NcRmVcw&feature=related)

edit:

Hakuna Matata (English Version) - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6vLAa-kylM) needs this in there somewhere too!

Shorty had the best group-selection of music, although Aulayna's was decent too. But the best songs go to foa as runner up for her 7 minute one, which was great, but the epic #1 spot is taken by themagicroundabout's choice. I haven't heard that song in forever.

By my count, we're 3:23 under where we should be, so I'm gonna abuse that and get us back on track with this little collection.

Yes, yes. The ultimate goal is to create a playlist (on youtube or something) with music choices from all the active members. I know 15 minutes is hard to work with, but I was expecting a lot of the members to participate. So 15 minutes per person is still more than one song, and also adds up to a pretty big play list very quickly.

10 hours at 15 minutes a person makes a list with potentially 40 members worth of input.

If it doesn't get popular here in a bit, I'll allow something like every person can have another 15 minutes as long as they wait a week after their original list.

By my count, we're 4 hours, 42 minutes, 27 seconds into the list. Someone who is better at math confirm that. I think we should be closer to 5 hours. I might have missed someone.

EDIT: Seriously. I keep counting 20 people, which is 5 hours. So either I'm not counting someone's music, or I'm counting an extra person. There's no way we're 17 minutes under the limit.

I can't believe we don't have these songs in here yet when we're talking about a road trip... you all disappoint me!

First up we'd open with Just A Day by Feeder (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KAMAw-DFwWY) using up 3:38 of a 15 mins slot. (note: using the lyrics video rather than the more fun official video because it extends the song to like 4:30 or so but I recommend putting the official video in there for the playlist)

We'd probably follow up with Kryptonite by 3 Doors Down (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPU8OAjjS4k) at 3:55 it brings the total timing up to 7:33.

I'd probably have to get Orpheus by Ash (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zB6X1h6eGTc) added in there, it's a song what is literally about a road trip and smurfing makes me smile like a mother smurfer. At 4:22 it's probably one of the longer songs I could pick. Running total I make now being 11:55.

Then for sheer old school driving music quality I'd add Black Betty by Ram Jam (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMLnDuzgkjo) at 3:57 that brings me in over the 15 minute mark by 42 seconds a grand total of 15:42 for these selections.

If we had to axe one it'd be Black Betty but it'd be a shame.

Though if I could I'd completely shred my 15 mins and add an entire other song in...

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PUT IT IN! Sweet Home Alabama Lynyrd Skynyrd 4:46 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Cyokaj3BJU)

Time to get a little bit 90's, these are songs I like to drive to and thus road trip appropriate. Some of you guys picked weird driving songs >_<

Locomotive :: Guns n' Roses (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8D6k3LKeMA0) This is my favourite song to listen to in a car, REALLY LOUDLY. 8:43 though :(

Smack My Bitch Up :: The Prodigy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZPECFQ4NhE) 5:44

I think that's 14:27 in total. Quality over quantity.

Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about this, and plan to make a youtube playlist or something like that.

I'm just giving everyone a chance to post and fill 10 hours. I want 10 hours from as many different people as possible. I want variety. Once I have 10 hours, I'll go back and trim the lists of people who went too far over and didn't do it by borrowing time from others.

The plan is all in my head.
