Why does the ghost (http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Ghost_%28Final_Fantasy_VI%29) face the wrong direction?

This has ALWAYS bothered me. It's possible Im just not looking at the sprite correctly

Similar to how I always thought this (http://www.videogamesprites.net/FinalFantasy6/NPCs/Townsfolk/Woman%20-%20Down.gif) was a guy with a big blue had covered in a blanket.

This is what I see when I look at the sprite. No matter how hard I look at it, I cannot see it in any other way or how the opening post described.

Glad I'm not a robot. It's our abstract reasoning at work. Something that shouldn't make sense but does only if you're a natural life form. And being able to understand a certain level of philosophy.

I've seen plenty of images that look like something they're not.
