Since Shorty, Jowy, and I are seriously de-railing the EoFF Mix Tape thread...

Talk about how much you LOVE this album!

I'd heard several songs from it disjointed, but the first time I sat down by myself with no distractions and listened to the album from beginning to end, I literally wept. (Yes, I was high.)

It has some of the most beautiful lines. My favourites are

and I have plans for a tattoo of

"she's a little boy in Spain playing pianos filled with flames" is a reference to Pepito Arriola (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pepito_Arriola) who was thought to have been a reincarnated soul because his musical talent was beyond comprehensible at his age, also eluding to the fact that Anne may reincarnated herself.

"all when I'd want to keep white roses in their eyes" is a reference to The White Rose movement (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Rose).

Love this album so much and this song seriously haunted me for a long time after I started shredding it apart for references and reading about the war and stuff.

ok so I would probably really like this if the version I have weren't so fucking clipped. I declipped it but the dynamics are still pretty poor for folk music (DR9)

is there a version of this circulating the nets that actually has decent dynamic range and isn't filled with horrible digital distortion even on acoustic guitar tracks? i'm fine with lo-fi (I have over 1,000 Pavement plays and at least 80 plays of every song on Ulver's Nattens Madrigal as two examples) but digital distortion pisses me off even if it's intentional

I should probably go ahead and download it sit down and listen to the whole thing one of these days, to see why it's hailed as the greatest album ever by so many people on the internet.
