AKA "the thread where Ouch! can dump whatever he wants." (http://home.eyesonff.com/final-fantasy-xiv/146841-more-alpha-footage-tour-black-shroud-final-fantasy-xiv-realm-reborn.html#post3173496) I or others will still be making separate threads/articles for the frontsite for major updates/videos, but this is where you can post random screenshots or other minor leaks all in the same place for those that want to keep up with it.

I'll start you off with some images that were shown in Famitsu (http://www.famitsu.com/news/201211/29025133.html) the other week.

In another thread, Ouch! posted the alpha game manual (http://www.betacake.net/2012/11/29/ffxiv-alpha-testers-game-manual/).

Wesley delivers. So I will too. r/ffxiv has been busy. Watch these while they're up. Despite being unlisted, I imagine that Square Enix will find out about them soon enough and take them down.

Double postin' not carin'! Here's a number of new pictures from alpha. I'm personally too occupied with things I am not at liberty to discuss to go through them myself, but I figured it doesn't hurt to share the love.

There's lots of stuff in here! (http://imgur.com/a/ngaaC)

Additionally, here's a lot of the music.

Triple post? Seems you guys aren't huge fans of leaked information. Anyway, the following is information about the beta that came from the alpha forum. I did not take this from the alpha forum directly; instead it comes from another player who leaked it to reddit.

The opening movie will be replaced.
Many NPCs in the Alpha Version are currently being converted to comply with the new graphics engine. NPC races, costumes, hair styles, facial expressions, and so forth will change significantly.
Quest and guildleve XP yield has been modified for the alpha test. These values will be adjusted to appropriate levels for the beta test.
Access to the instanced dungeon Tam-Tara Deepcroft is currently granted via an NPC. In the beta test, access will instead be granted via the content finder.
Players will be able to access previously unavailable areas.
Items will be rebalanced significantly.
Because equipment graphics are currently being converted to the new engine, some item names may not match their appearance. These items will be corrected in the beta test.
Flashing animations will be implemented for certain weapons when drawn.
The ability to request repairs from other players will be implemented.
Each player will be able to utilize the same gathering point a given number of times. Therefore, players will not have to compete for gathering points.
The following changes will be made to the battle system.
Damage algorithms will undergo significant change. Parameters will be revised as a result.
The claim system will be changed to coincide with the addition of new content in the beta test. In addition to the party that initiates battle, parties that deal sufficient damage will also receive rewards.
Party bonuses will be changed. Players will receive different enhancing effects depending on the combination of classes or jobs in the party.
Lancers’ and conjurers’ level 15 actions will be made into class quest rewards.
Physics for equipment, hair, etc., will be implemented.
Character creation options will be adjusted and expanded.
PC/NPC eye and neck movements will be adjusted.
Light animations will be adjusted.
Gamepad controls will be implemented.

Obviously a lot of things like re-evaluation of experience gain and such were certain to be adjusted for the beta. I hear (ahem) that experience gain in the alpha is extremely bloated, which makes sense considering the goal was to test for bugs and server stress rather than any form of game balance. The one change that definitely sounds like it's a result of direct tester feedback on a gameplay issue is that gathering will no longer be competitive. This is good news.

Lot of changes :O Sounds like I might consider giving the game another chance at release of ARR.

I enjoy these; I just don't always get to look over them and comment right away.

I really appreciate the attention to detail the development team is giving, going over everything and otherwise putting far more care into this relaunch than FFXIV has ever had. Combat and the UI are two of the biggest upgrades I've noticed, and it looks like those are continuing to change. In my brief playing time I did not do any gathering, so I don't have anything to compare the changes to.

That's a lot of leaked stuff already, gosh.

I'm really only scratching the surface at this point. I'm not digging particularly deep to find any of this (read: I'm reposting from reddit). For the first few weeks of alpha, it was Japan only, and for the most part, the Japanese players have been more reticent to ignore their nondisclosure agreements. The game was out in Europe and North America for two days before someone shared the downloadable alpha player's manual. It's exploded from there.

It occurs to me that I probably should have posted the Scholar leak (http://home.eyesonff.com/final-fantasy-xiv-realm-reborn/148965-new-job-scholar-confirmed-via-data-mining.html) here since it's probably not newsworthy on its own.

At any rate, a kind redditor has organized the images datamined from the beta of all the various hairstyles in the game, some of which are still locked in the beta client. Check 'em out here. (http://imgur.com/a/doHpJ#0)

Additionally, here's (https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B4oDJkKGVHcCY0JWSzhCcVhyaDA/edit?usp=sharing) the OST--at least what's available in beta--that's been mined and downloadable in .ogg format. I haven't downloaded it yet, but it seems safe from the responses of others who have.

In a few interviews, Yoshi-P has recently confirmed that not only will some 1.x tracks be making a return, but Nobuo Uematsu will also be composing some new pieces as well. It does look like a majority of the current stuff is Soken, though. Granted, he's been doing damn good work.

A little concerned about the wording of certain information above to do with the content finder. It will be used to access dungeons instead of the NPC? So we have to use the content finder? That's a little concerning if it's to be permanent. If a full party wants to access a dungeon that they are standing next to, they should be able to utilise the NPC or at least just walk in. Going to the UI is silly in such instances.

The content finder was not necessary to start a dungeon in Alpha, if I recall correctly. Keep in mind that a majority of this information is probably translated from Japanese; I wouldn't put too much emphasis on specific wording.

Here's a list of the abilities (http://pastebin.com/6WaJMQCt) mined from the beta client's .dats. I haven't had much of an opportunity to look through it completely yet, but it appears to be in order of class. The particular class isn't identified, but you should be able to figure it out (it starts with gladiator, for example). Keep in mind that the ability names are google translated.

Edit: Have some looks at screens of the armor (http://imgur.com/a/nMzcq) shown off in the last live letter.

From the beta's client, which apparently already includes all the zones, even if the whole world doesn't go live until the later phases. (http://imgur.com/a/kDvEq#0)
