In case you haven't been hanging about the forums lately, my name is Award Chocobo and I'm the host of a special event for the 25th Anniversary celebrations of Final Fantasy. Eyes on Final Fantasy will be hosting a special Ciddies event - for Final Fantasy!


And there's a prize up for grabs for members who participate, too! See the end of this post for details.

We've already finished the nomination stage of this event and now that we have the finalists, you can vote for who you want to win! (send your votes to me (http://home.eyesonff.com/private.php?do=newpm&u=38011)!). Posts made in this thread will not be counted, so definitely make sure you message me with them.

Dr. Shantotto did recieve two nominations for one of the awards - Cutest Female, amusingly - however, 8 the eight finalists all received at least six nominations! Seriously, participation was awesome.

Warrior of Light was one nomination away from getting into Best Hero, and the same again for Most Influential Character. Garland was nominated for five different Ciddies, but not more than once for any of them. Both Invisible Woman and Arylon the Dancer were nominated for Best NPC. White Wizard got a nomination for Cutest Female, too. There might be more in there somewhere...

Nah, it was simply that out of all 13+ soundtracks (hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of tracks), a song had to get at least three nominations to get to the finals. With only three nominations from each person allowed... I'm pretty sure I'd struggle to find someone else with the same top three FF songs. :p Too much choice leads to wide scattered votes with little overlap.

If it were only vocal pieces there would be a lot less not making it to the final, because there's only so many vocal tracks. Only half of the finalists are vocal tracks, so your theory does not hold up too well. :3

Well, it's possible some of the people who nominated thought best song would be only vocal pieces, but others didn't. In that case that would explain why half the pieces are vocal pieces when really, there aren't that many vocal pieces in Final Fantasy.

In less than ten hours, this number has shot up to 70 members voted already. There are currently ties in awards such as Best Heroine, Best Dialogue, MLT Get Killed off in a New Sequel and MLT Be Riding the Chocobo. Loads more are seperated by just one or two votes, so it's going to be a very close-fought affair on all but a handful of the awards!
