Useless Coins

I have an overwhelming pile of useless coins sitting in my desk.... What do? I've counted them and they amount to 960 yen... If I were to take them to the bank, the banker wouldn't even exchange them for a 1000 yen bill, (1000 yen bills are the smallest) and I don't know if it's even worth the time to have them count them all and then put them in my savings for me.

What do you do with useless coins? Do you keep them in a jar? Do you throw them away? I hate coins. :(

You just put them in a jar until you can bank them. I've got like $50 worth of shrapnel on my table and in a little tin that I've been meaning to bank.

Save 'em up! Last time I saved up coins, I took them to the bank for a coin machine to count them. I had like, £60 @_@

I keep them in a spare glasses case in the car and use them for parking and drive-thru.

I throw my change in an empty pretzel container. There's probably at least thirty bucks in there now.

I have a Rafael money box on my desk I throw them in. Depending on what coins I have there can be around £50 - £70 in it. At the moment though its just 1 pence and 2 pence coins so its more likely £5 - £7 :(

I usually thro them in the change machine at a supermarket and use it for groceries.

I throw any excess change I accumulate into a coin counting bank with a digital readout of how many coins are in there. I've had it for about two years now and so far it's at $44.25 according to the readout. I imagine it would be even more full but I pay for 90% of my crap with my debit card, so I actually don't get a lot of change.

Whenever I find Canadian coins, I get mad because I don't plan on buying hunting gear or whatever.
