Curly is mine.

Whenever I get a role, a certain director refers to me as "Curly," which is hardly a fitting name for such a fine actor such as myself.

Also, Mikey. I refuse to, under any ciurcumstances, be called "Mikey". Mike is not acceptable either.

Either Michael, des Lauriers, Laddy, or Sex Prince From The Abyss. Those are the only acceptable titles for me.

Anyway, nicknames!

Shadowcrane.

Yeah, it doesn't sound bad. It started out as an inside joke within my office, because I made paper cranes out of post-its all the time and walk into the office without being seen by anyone...

but it gets embarrassing/annoying when my friends take this thing outside the office and start introducing me to random people with "Shadowcrane" instead of my real name. >.>

Let me explain why people call me Chris.

My full name is Reno Kristiansen.

Danish people have no clue how to pronounce Reno, so they called me Rene, Rono, Renault.

Got sick of it, so told everybody to call me Kris, 'cuz of last name = Kristiansen.

People start calling me Kris, but keep misspelling it as Chris.

Now I am called Chris.

Oh, yeah, in Japanese class, we referred to each other by last name and had to write it in katakana on our papers. Mine was katakana-ized as Karimurimu, so my TA and some of my friends in the class would be like, "Karimurimurimurimurimurimurimu......-san."

Idk, I have a ton of not-so-flattering nicknames, but only a few random ones are considered 'embarrassing' to me. XD

Really just the normal nicknames for Richard. Sometimes 'Richie Rich'. Nothing really embarrassing.

Hmm, I can't think of any others. Oh, well, they call me the Professor due to my role as the Knockie Professor. Um.

Jiro. Daks. Dikkers.

Yeah that's about the lot.

EDIT: oh embarrassing. nvm

My name does not lend itself well to nicknames, let alone embarrassing ones. I got no problems here.

I believe I've mentioned in the past that I'm known to many people as Ling. And that name is still sticking with me.

Jepoy

It derived from my trip to the Philippines. So most of my cousins usually call me that when they see me. It's the only slightly embarrassing nickname I have. :P

None have been embarassing.

Though my last username, Uncle Big hands, came from my nephew, for some reason, started calling me Creepy Uncle Big hands. :p

Before that there, there was Chuggles.

None of my nicknames have ever embarrassed me, except for when my parents called me "The Dawdler" when I was toddler because I liked to take my good all time to do things. What can I say, I was a chill mofo.

The weirdest nickname goes to my childhood friend Cassie, who occasionally called me "Crying Stall" (my name is Crystal beeteedubs).

I was a rather chubby child so my mother used to call me "pumpkin" a lot which did persist throughout my teenage years. People just address me by my last name more often than my first nowadays, and I'm cool with that. :aimsun:

Not in a long time, but about 2 jobs ago a lot of co-workers called me Lu, short for Lucifer as a running joke based on some insignificant shit I can't even remember.

Well my surname is Blockley so I used to get Blockhead quite a lot in school... that was nice.

Other names have included Iron Cock, Tyrannosaurus Penis, The Messiah, God, The Midget Exterminator, Eric the Inflatable Llama... none of this is true.

One of my coworkers got his hands on my Xbox Live username (Provost Pike) the other day and now he straight up calls me nothing but "The Provost" at work.

It's not embarrassing though; in fact it's rather great!

My stepdad has called me Chipmunk since I was a wee lass, because I have very round and large cheeks, and I laugh really high.

I've never been embarrassed by any nicknames, though I've had a few very random ones. A guy in high school used to call me "Woose the Moose." I never understood it. Another friend in college called me The General, and based on that, his future girlfriend started calling me Wesmoreland (after Vietnam general Westmoreland -- we were all history majors).

You know I've thought his name like that to myself and figured nobody would get the reference.

It's not all that obscure if you know 20th century US history, and it's an especially appropriate nickname with my last name.

My best friend calls me Sarah Seamonster.

One of my sisters calls me Petey. It started because I was calling her a fiend one day when we were little and wouldn't stop. She said that if I didn't stop calling her a fiend she'd call me a boy's name. We both refused to stop calling eachother names so now we're Petey and Fiendy. The other two sisters call me Sawah, Sawey and any other sort of baby-talk version of my name that you can think of.

My mom and dad used to call me Mookie Blaylock after the basketball player when I was itty bitty. I guess they found his name so hilarious that they started calling me by it. :| Now my mom has just shortened it to Mookie. I'm not sure if that's better or worse.

Recent development: I didn't know it was a basketball player's name until o_O told me not too long ago when we were talking about nicknames! He found it hilarious :aimmad:

My mom calls me Juice. My ex-girlfriend referred to me as Comfy One because she always used me as her pillow. My grandmother calls me Piss due to a misunderstanding of my cousin's mispronouncing my name as a kid (it was Fess), she just thinks it funnier to say Piss.

My nicknames are very disinteresting. My full name is Jordan Patrick O'Donnell Cleary, so I am called either:

Jordan
Jord
Cleary.

Actually, during Physical education classes in secondary school, we often played football, and my only hope for a position was defender. I'm not the best at football, but my only action as a defender was to hoof the ball skyward towards the other end. Because of my simple yet effective method of defending, my nickname during P.E was "Clear it Cleary". I found it quite endearing actually.
