Final Fantasy VII Advent Children: Christmas Tree and Ornaments

Last winter, December 2011, I used my extra free time to create Christmas decorations. Not just any Christmas decorations, but Final Fantasy based Christmas decorations. During my current fanfare of Final Fantasy VII, I decided to hand-paint characters’ faces on ornaments and some Materia written in Japanese. Also, I got the courage to craft a Meteor as a tree toper for my tree! Thank goodness it’s not the real one! :D

Along with my collection, I produced Christmas Greetings (family-portrait style) for my family and friends who requested one. I’m currently thinking about doing a forum for my greeting card give-away if anyone is interested, depending on the popularity of this blog. It seems too late for it, but maybe next year, I hope so! :)

Anyways, as my Christmas gift for all people in the Eyes on Final Fantasy community, enjoy the pictures! Feel free to leave behind comments of what are your favorite decorations and why you liked them. Until then, have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! :D

Inspired by the Final Fantasy VII's game logo. I used a sphere styoform, pipe cleaners and clear napkins for the meteor's shadow, and aryclic paint. Also, empty toliet paper to keep hold of the Meteor.


Christmas Ornaments: FFVII AC Characters and Materias

All character-based ornaments are painted with household-paint and aryclic paint, and decorated with glitter to give some texture in the hair. References are used.

All Materia-based ornaments are painted with household-paint and aryclic paint, and their names are written in black sharpie marker in Japanese (I totally forgot the names, sorry, but you are much welcome to guess what they are if you are happened to be fluent in Japanese). :)

All Christmas cards are drawned in colored pencils, pen ink, hard pastel, and sharpie markers. References are used for the characters, but outfit design are from my mind.

Red XIII is truly the best ornament, with Cait Sith coming up in second. I like all of the decorations, really; clearly you spent a lot of time and love on these things, because they are great. That you named each materia is cute and adds a nice touch.

Yeah, Red XIII was a challenge for me to do an ornament one because I barely do feline, and Cait Sith was very easy.
Speaking of materias, one of the Command Materias (the second left one, and I think it's the Steal Materia) reminds me of a face. :lol:
