I got the best prize in my cracker this afternoon, a little fold away fan, which is doing the best job at wafting away any rogue farts the dogs are passing my way.

What did you get in your cracker?

Oh those things? I haven't done one this year, but the little toys and jokes in them can be mildly amusing. Plus the pops are always good to freak out the animals.

Is it sad that I have absolutely no idea what those are?

Any food item containing a prize that isn't edible is banned in America since some idiot kids choked on the awesome Hercules toys that used to come in Wonder Balls.

Heh..they're everywhere over here.....

"On January 10, 2011, it was reported that a Kinder egg was seized from a woman's car during a random inspection while entering the United States from Canada. She was informed that bringing the egg into the United States could result in a $300 fine. In June 2012 the potential fine per egg was quoted as US$2,500.[16] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinder_Surprise#cite_note-16)"

Pretty hefty fine......:greenie:

The new toys suck anyway so you're not missing out. I can't even fathom why it would be banned in the US except that maybe too many people were trying to eat the obvious toy hidden in a capsule... separated from the chocolate.

They've been banned since 1938, apparently. Two instances of fatalities!

Kinder eggs are banned because some moralizing, self-aggrandizing regulators have way too much time on their hands.

The general prohibition of non-food inside food started back in 1938, I believe. This wasn't applied to Kinder eggs until much later.

Probably those parents who can figure out what to do with a child. All you have to do is show them it can be cracked in half I guess......but that "egg" inside the chocolate is pretty big.....

My mum got a cool pen, my sister a deck of cards and I, a wine bottle stopper. Left them over at my mum's though. Oh well.

More today, I don't doubt it'll be a lame oversized paperclip or a psychic fish or a jumping frog or something. :(

Wait, after laughing with everyone else in this thread, I've suddenly stopped to think.

Who the hell considers a Christmas Cracker to be a food item!? I mean... are they taking the 'cracker' bit as literally as I did in my first post? Because, dude, just... wow.
