My mom put this near the front door for good luck.

We also have 8 pieces each of 8 kinds of fruit. And lot of round/spherical foods O_o

What does everyone else do on New Years for tradition or good luck.. or anything?

What is that, rice and a stick?

I have no New Years traditions. It used to be watching the ball drop on television while eating Pizza Hut, but I've lost interest in both honestly.

Is that some kind of crazy filipino tradition, Pitye? I don't think my family ever did anything like that around New Year's.

Sugar, salt, uncooked rice, and a ginger root on a white plate. XD

Well, the tradition is actually 12 kinds of fruit. One for each month. :upsidedow

I like to utter profanities as the clock strikes midnight so that I am the first and last person to swear in each year. And no, I don't give the slightest of fucks about timezones.

My family watches the ball drop and has snacks through the night so I used to do that with them. Now I either go to Andrew's friends' party where we watch the ball drop, sing karaoke, drink, and eat snacks, or his family has a little party where everyone brings snacks and watches the ball drop. Either way, I get my New Year's kiss every year now :)

Supposedly eating black eyed peas on New Year's Day is supposed to bring you luck for the year.Usually I get drunk aaaand, yeah. That's about it.

Working. If I'm not working usually have a few friends over and we get drunk whilst playing Monopoly or something or just watch the TV as the local booze establishments aren't entertaining places to be on New Years.

Usually working though as it's more often than not a weekday.

This year I'll actually be working at midnight but managed to convince our manager to let us all have a glass of bubbly to celebrate the new year in which is very nice of them.

From a lack of objectivity, reasoning, and a lack of insecurity can be reasons for superstitions, traditions, and other things.

I go to my friend's party and make drinks for everyone. Then we drink too much and yell at each other and forget how to play drinking games.

The next day I eat collard greens and black eyed peas with my family while I'm hung over.
