View Full Version : Did you keep your New Years' Resolution from last year?
Because I did. (http://home.eyesonff.com/eoff-archived-awards/140095-now-main-course-december-2011-ciddies-revelations-all-done-9.html#post3045123)
Yes that's right. This is my 365th thread this year. Actually probably more than that because I opted not to count threads I made in the staff forum. :greenie:
I HOPE YOU ALL LIKED THE EXTRA ACTIVITY and also the frequently inane thread topics! :kakapo:
Did anyone else keep their resolution?

Save some money
Doing a writing prompts at least 3 times a week
Get my Associate's degree (this one might not be possible yet, but!)

Me too!
For this year, might as well figure out what I want to do with my life. My resolution will be to set a stepping stone!

My resolutions for 2012 that I noted down in my lj:
be nicer
discover my artistic side - failed
eat healthier and smurfING STICK TO VEGETARIANISM - half failed, I have educated myself on the ways of eating healthier
learn to read music and to successfully play an instrument - failed
move from Phoenix and never come back
switch to using cash/no debit cards - failed
start saving to open the cafe - failed
2.5/7 :( I didn't set a goal for the amount of weight I wanted to lose but I ultimately lost 32 pounds this year and gained a few back, so now I'm at about -25 for the year of 2012. Going to do better for 2013 and I'm hoping to get lower than my high school size by September (gotta look hot for weddingsss).
I don't really know where 2013 is going to take me and I don't know what I should make resolutions for otherwise. Might try vegetarianism again and I'd like to start playing piano and drawing/painting but I don't know if I necessarily care about making those into resolutions anymore.

My new years resolution was to keep on keepin' on. So far I'm alive and keepin' on so hurrah for me
My resolution this year is to take a break from resolutions.
<s style="color: rgb(255, 255, 255); font-family: Verdana, Arial, Tahoma, Calibri, Geneva, sans-serif; background-color: rgb(0, 41, 66);">move from Phoenix and never come back</s>
you can't cross that out because it's a continuing resolution.

Have to say I'm very surprised that "Be nicer" is quite a common resolution!

My resolutions from last year:
- Weight Loss - check, though not nearly as much as I could have done due to a) negligence and b) a rather rocky year
- Stop drinking Fizzy Drinks - check, apart from occassional nights out - but that's a massive improvement over the 3 to 4 cans a day I used to go through
- Make an iOS game - Nope, more due to procrastination than anything. I got one level done though.
- Learn a Musical Instrument - Nope
- Get the job I was going for - Nope
- Get my hair cut every 2 months - Not by a long shot
Resolutions for 2013:
- Sort my mental problems out
- Continue weight loss
- Join local Athletics Club
- Finish that iOS game
- Get the job I want
- Start doing more freelance Graphic Design work and build a more organised portfolio

Instead of setting goals I know that I will inevitably fail, I instead set goals I know that I can never achieve. That way, I won't be disappointed. :colbert:

I don't remember if I had one or not. If I did I imagine I failed it.
This year my resolution is to stop wasting so much time on stupid stuff like books and writing and masturbation, and more time playing videogames.

My New Years resolution last year was to not make a New Years resolution. I was victorious in this feat.

The one year I made a resolution that I remember was when I was 3 or 4 and said I would start being nicer to my big brother. I promptly broke it :D haven't made a resolution since!
This year, however:
-Keep up on housework better
-do even better at saving money so we can move out soon!
-worry less about other people's opinions of me
-not have another baby until next year at the earliest!
-make a better effort to keep in touch with friends and not let being busy get the best of me
-go for walks as often as possible when the weather gets nicer
-go swimming more this summer!
I'm so excited because I believe in myself!

Ys. I was slowly turning into a fat lazy bastard and a year later I've lost 2 stone to my target weight and started training again. No idea why I stopped training in the first place. Complacency maybe.
It's easy to accidentally turn yourself from an attractive 20 something into a fat mess. Going back the other way aint so easy but it's doable.
So yes. I'm now almost how I looked 10 years ago when I was younger and used my fists more. that might be it actually, I never fight now. Maybe I should start that trout again.

I'm not certain, but I think my NY's resolution was to not have a NY's resolution. Or something. This year, my New Year's resolution is to remember my New Year's resolution.

I kept my annual New Year's resolution to make sure the Earth successfully completed another orbit around the sun with most of its inhabitants relatively intact. It was difficult going for a while, but I pulled it through.
My resolutions for 2012 that I noted down in my lj:
be nicer
... Are you seriously suggesting that you succeeded at being nicer this year? I call shenanigans.

I don't remember making any resolutions last year but I'm going to set some realistic ones this time round.
- Maintain/slightly increase my current weight
- Continue consuming alcohol
- Talk to myself in the mirror when drunk
- Play lots of computer games
- Pass the dutchie on the left hand side
- Laugh at any dog that is wearing one of those cone collars.
- Convince a new group of people that my Dad was the voice of Uncle Bulgaria in the Wombles... when he wasn't.
