Circles and cliques of EoFF

So... about circles and cliques. Do you belong in any? I think we can all safely say that everyone is part of one, or a few, or many. I think the problem with being in so many circles/cliques is keeping up with each one. There is absolutely no way I could keep up with each one at the same time, as if I spend time with one clique, I'm losing attention with another. ARGH

Probably I'm the only one who feels this way. :greenie: So, let's talk about circles of cliques around EoFF.

At work I guess I'm with the loud, chatty girls! But then I'm also with other people and groups. I've sort of made my own clique at work with my department girls.

I don't think I'm a part of any circle or clique. There are lots of people on here I can happily chat with but I wouldn't regard myself as part of any particular 'inner circle'.

So there was this time where edczxcvbnm and I spotted a porn parody of that movie called Stap on Club at a video rental place. The cover even had a pink "object of interest" instead of soap. So edczxcvbnm and I, being respectable perverts, decide to download the film on our own instead of facing shame of the employee who checks out the movies.

They get to the part where they describe the rules. "The first rule Strap on Club is that you don't talk about Strap on Club. The second rule of Strap on Club is that YOU DO NOT TALK ABOUT STRAP ON CLUB."

Not two scenes later a character says, "There is this new club that I am a part of..." which causes edczxcvbnm to scream, "YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO TALK ABOUT IT!!!"

And no, there was no plot twist that revealed that the main character was ****ing herself the whole time. Biggest missed opportunity of human history.

It was kind of hilarious for a random newbie like myself at the time. :D

I'm in the superior-to-everyone clique. We are discriminating compared to most other EoFF cliques in that we actually have standards.

EoFF was fairly cliquey a loooong time ago. I never saw actual rudeness or willful exclusion of newbies (though some thoughtless exclusion in hindsight), but I was told by some contemporary newbies that they felt it was difficult to fit in at times with the more established members. EoFF has long since grown out of that, probably because the average age of posters has jumped something like 5-6 years or more. Hell, despite having a reputation as one of the more oldbie-favoring, elitist members, I can't even think of an EoFF clique that I'm a part of.

Interestingly, despite the relative lack of newbies in recent years, it seems far easier nowadays for newbies to become established.
