Steam is becomming a great platform for indie games with several stellar and quirky indie titles coming out in the past year. Do you dabble in Indie games? What do you look for in them before purchasing? Do they provide you with the nostalgia of gaming's more simpler days when it was all about the gameplay rather than the presentation?

Splice! It's a fun puzzle game about gene splicing. Check it out! It's made by a local Philly studio I know, Cipher Prime, who also made Auditorium and Pulse. I interviewed them to write a law school paper, really cool guys.

Other than that, I don't mess with Indie games because they don't produce the kinds of experiences I'm looking for in a title. Not knocking them in anyway, because I know a lot of people do enjoy them.

I will buy pretty much anything from the Humble Bundle. I'll also buy almost anything that costs less than $5 on Steam.

I have a big ol' backlog of indie games for this reason.

Some of them are pretty great. Binding of Isaac comes to mind as a really good one.
