Probably anyway. Those old Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies cartoons would be another contender, but they weren't really from my childhood, were they?

Star Trek.

No, not a silly reboot movie full of lens flare and emotional Vulcans. A series, set after Voyager. Show us Captain Daniels on the Enterprise J or something.

Pinky & The Brain as it was the greatest cartoon of its day and any other day.

The Man
02-02-2013, 10:38 PM
There still aren't any "emotional Vulcans" in the new Star Trek. Spock is half-human and young, and one of the whole points of Vulcans is that they feel absurdly intense emotions so have adopted rigorous training to bring them under control. It is debatable whether this has ever worked well, although at least they're less belligerent than the Romulans.

And the lens flare complaints are ridiculous. Sorry but I can't think of a more ridiculous thing to criticise.

Cloudane

Stop calling out my terrible arguments.

The lens flare was an internet meme

And yes I know the reason for the suppressed emotions is that they are actually heightened by nature. To be fair, even in Enterprise (set many years before TOS) they'd been very well controlled and T'Pol had her reasons for emotionalism that were outside of her control (Trellium-D). Where's the reason for Spock and Uhura, hmmm?

I just prefer the past versions not to be meddled with ok :P

The Man
02-03-2013, 12:43 AM
The reason for Spock and Uhura are that this is an alternate timeline where Spock is a survivor of a holocaust that killed 99% of his father's race, and also he's about eight years younger than he is in the TV show, so it's naturally that he'd be somewhat different in this one than he was in TOS :monster:

I figured you weren't serious about the lens flare but :monster:

If Spider-Man: TAS or X-Men of the '90s came back with the same (or better) quality, I would definitely be watching them again.

The Man
02-03-2013, 04:57 AM
Batman: TAS would be another good choice. Of course without Mark Hamill reprising his role as the Joker it would probably be a disappointment, and he's said the only production he'd be willing to play the Joker in from here on out would be The Killing Joke. So little chance of that :(

You know, I was always sad about the end of Batman Beyond, as there was so much more they could have done with it. Hell, you never get to see Blight again after the season one finaly. :(

Teen Titans too. I loved that show. :(

Forsaken Lover

Batman Beyond never even got a real finale. They had to use a Justice League Unlimited episode to end it.

Leomon and Jeri. Poor, poor Jeri. :( I'm not saying it wasn't sad in places, but characters died in S1 and S2 as well (and I never saw death as "dark" personally). I should have been more clear and said that the majority of it seemed light-hearted especially when 90% of the first half of it was "Wait a sec... that anime we all watch is real?!". Jeri's storyline however, yes, I agree was the more serious and emotional moments of the show.

X-Men: The Animated Series, Transformers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

But!

No changing the animation style, no changing the voices, no changing the personalities, no changing the major players (I'm looking at you, Transformers) and more than anything, not changing it to suit bloody Nickelodeon. Wolverine should have a desire to kill and not be portrayed as a wonderful role model. Optimus should be a cab-over-engine truck. Krang should totally be in there.

EDIT: And I definitely second Animaniacs.

That was one of the best parts of being off school!

Del's shout for Duck Tales and Animaniacs were good. Likewise TMNT and X-Men. Crystal Maze wins for me though. With Richard O'Brien, of course.

I agree with cloudane, I'd like to see a continuation of Star Trek (not a reboot) set sometime after the events of TNG or Voyager, probably set again on the starfleet flagship; enterprise (I did hear a rumour that the actor who played Worf on the TNG wanted to do a show based on his character; that would be a start) as for a show I'd like to see come back, maybe ALF (Paul Fusco talked about it awhile back but i haven't heard anything as of late) I hope it remains a possibility because its something that I would love to see.
