...But if you mention 3 I will fucking end you. Fuck 3.

So, favorite Fallout? Favorite faction, weapons, builds, characters, locations, quests? :excited:

I liked 3, though it wasn't great.

Only other one I'd played was New Vegas, which is fucking glorious.

I liked 3 too. It was a great game, let down somewhat by the fact that Bethesda made it. Then New Vegas was made, which was an excellent game, let down an awful lot by the fact that Bethesda published it.

I still haven't got round to furthering my Fallout LP, so I can't really claim to have played the others to any considerable degree. :(

The third was the only one that I played and I really liked it. I played it for 7 days straight once and the blood vessels in my eyes burst all over the place. I looked horrible.

I played Fallout 1 for a while and then never finished it because I'm a terrible person. I mean to pick it up again at some point and complete both it and 2.

New Vegas is pretty fun!

(sorry Laddy) I never finished 3 but recently picked it up again after ~4 or so years of not playing it. I like it a lot, but not as much as New Vegas.

Rose of Sharon Cassidy and ED-E are my favorite companions. I really like Boone, but I am super protective about Cass being my companion and I just love her to death. smurf that robo-brain dog. ED-E is the best non-human companion. Veronica's pretty neat, too, but I really prefer long-range weapons and for my companions to cover my back in situations that require me to charge in and slaughter the smurf out of Caesar and the raiders and anything else that results in a mass attack.

Favorite character is Yes Man. Dave Foley owns my heart. I just want to do everything he tells me.

Favorite quest and location is DEAD MONEY AND SIERRA MADRE CASINO. That quest gives me the chills and I just smurfing love it. I love everything about it. I'd really like to play Honest Hearts because of the Utah setting, but I heard it kindof sucks. I've heard Old World blues is the best and I have yet to play that as well.

My favorite non-DLC quests is probably the Ultra-Luxe Beyond the Beef quest and the Ultra-Luxe is probably my favorite casino (beside Sierra Madre). I dunno what it is about those weird smurfing creepy cannibals but I love that casino.

I kindof cycle through what weapons I prefer. My sniper rifle has never done me wrong and I quite like assault-style rifles. Not very fond of laser weapons and I've only just recently developed an interest in the missile launcher. I've never dabbled in custom weapons before but I've heard about some pretty neat ones that make me want to focus on them.

I just want to say if you say "smurf 3" then I will simply respond with "I don't want to set the world on fire" because anything 3 did wrong, that song is so right. :colbert: Also, Liberty Prime was smurfing incredible and I won't hear a god damn word said against Point Lookout.

That said, yes, New Vegas is another level. Sarah's choice of Boone/ED-E was alright on my first playthrough but I deliberately went out of my way to pick up Raul in my second and I fell in love. Particularly in his little Vaquero outfit. Raul is boss. And I'm his boss. Complainy ol' Mexican Ghoul. :3 LOVE HIM. Danny god damn Trejo folks.

I felt Dead Money was one of the poorer DLCs! Didn't enjoy the new gameplay elements on that at all. Honest Hearts does have a great setting and Joshua Graham is a real enigma, although Josh Sawyer admits some of the quests on there are placeholders because they ran out of time and it shows. Old World Blues was some smurfing incredible writing and I can't praise it enough. Lonesome Road was a bit of a let down. All the build up to Ulysses and... oh... I just don't know. It lacked.

Just want to say: smurf the NCR and everything they stand for. Who am I allied to? Tunnel Snakes rule. :smug:

oh my god, I forgot about the intro to 3! It gives me chills!

Dead Money is the only DLC I've played, so I can't really compare it to the others D:

While you're here Sarah bear, I sold Cass out to the Van Graffs and then rolled around her vaporised ashes on the floor of their shop. :)

02-04-2013, 09:48 PM
You would. You bastard.

We smoked the Van Graffs out of their hole, stole all their weapons and then found some stray cats in the neighborhood to come use their ashes as a litterbox.

I just wiped out the Van Graffs for the Brotherhood, because hell yeah power armor.

I'm not sure what my favorite is because it's been so long since I played 1 and 2. New Vegas is certainly superior to 3 but the DC Wasteland was pretty cool, especially dicking around in the National Mall. Too bad the story was weak.

I might actually play the New Vegas DLC which I've never really done in any game ever.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I murdered the Van Graffs too once I beat their questline. I murder most folk, it's just a matter of murdering the most loathsome (see: Cassidy) first. :greenie:

Sorry, I just have to rid the wasteland of colossal dorks. It's like that sniper you see in the outpost where you meet Cass. "Yeah, my name's Ghost and I'm a sniper! You never know I'm there 'til I kill you!" is... is this ironic? Is that what this is? ...no? Oh. Right. Well. Thanks for the chat, but now I'm going to have to cave your skull in.

And similarly my courier would take one look at you and go "No. Just... what the fuck. No. I am not standing for this." and I'd be compelled to chainsaw you.

Well if you're going to be like that I'd just bring the Experimental MIRV down on your head but where is the fun in that?

Actually, there is a lot of fun in that. I beat every fucking resident in Megaton to death with the Dismemberer, piled all of their limbs and torsos together in the centre of town, and then fired into it with the MIRV. There were only tiny little fleshy coloured marbles left, each one saying "Search Lucas Simms" or "Search Wastelander" when highlighted.

And that's when I defused the bomb and saved the town from the horrors of nuclear weaponry. :)

That, my dear Sarah bear, is charcoal. And a lot of very angry hippies. You'd think they'd be a little bit more chilled out being hippies and all but nope, brutally burning a living tree they worship as a god really pisses them off. C'est la vie!

Oasis, Fallout 3. You never did the Oasis quest? Man, that was one of the better ones in Fallout 3 in terms of the moral choice involved. You missed out!

Also, is it wrong that as I cheerfully torched Harold and his hippie followers I burst into song, serenading them with "I don't want to set the world on fire, I just want to start a flame in your heart"?

Nooo, I only made it like, a quarter of the way into the game last time I played. I have no idea how that is possible because I still logged dozens of hours.

Yes, that is wrong and cruel and ironic.

I am in the East Wing of the L.O.B. Enterprises in 3 and still at a pretty damn low level with not much ammo for my preferred guns and these smurfing robots KEEP POPPING UP OUT OF NOWHERE around every corner! What the smurf!

Shoeberto
02-06-2013, 07:08 PM
So I played New Vegas yesterday and this is what I did:
- Told Caesar I'd destroy Mr. House's robots.
- Told Benny I'd set him free.
- Told Mr. House I'd upgrade his robots.
- Upgraded the robots.
- Didn't tell Caesar.
- Had Benny crucified.
- Went to Lucky 38.
- Opened the door to Mr. House's control room.
- Chainsawed the fuck out of his robots.
- Got ready to kill Mr. House.

That's where I had to turn it off but damn was it satisfying.

I think one thing that should be noted about Fallout: New Vegas in particular is how progressive it is, specifically in matters of representations of women and LGBT people.

Never before has a game represented gay people so well, giving you the option of playing a gay or bisexual character with no penalty, in addition to some well-written, competent, and non-stereotypical portrayals of gay characters (Arcade and Veronica <3). In addition, female characters are treated with much more dignity than other games in the industry by making a woman's portrayal virtually distinguishable from men in regards to not being sexually objectified.

Obsidian is so lovely. <3 Only Atlus competes with them for my favorite developer right now.
