Relating to Shorty Mama's thread;

Last night I watched Legally Blonde with my housemate - we were both feeling pooey and hungover and good old Reese Witherspoon really cheered us up :D I love that film.

Other movies I like on a rainy day are Some Like it Hot, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Tangled, Life As We Know It... basically anything a bit girly :bigsmile:

What movies are your go to favs for a rainy day indoors?

I like movies from the 80s. They just have this feel to them. Some kind of atmosphere and look I really like. Science Fiction and Fantasy movies from that decade especially tend to have a distinct feel, I think.

But yeah, some good 80s flicks are e.g. stuff like Blade Runner, RoboCop, Heathers, The Labyrinth, Ghostbusters, Breakfast Club, The Neverending Story, Gremlins etc. etc. etc. There are loads!

Balto
Animated Hobbit
Flight of Dragons

The last three have been my go to rainy day films ever since I was a kid.

I like actiony or thinky movies. I do not like chicky movies. If I'm having a rainy day marathon, it's probably Die Hard, bad zombie movies or Kevin Smith movies.

Johnny Mnemonic
Big Trouble In Little China
Dark City
Star Wars

LOTR is for marathons - one is upcoming as I just got the 1080p extended eds and neeeeed to have a screening on the projector, but gotta get a dark curtain so I can run all day.

I like trilogies! Just for example:

- Indiana Jones trilogy;
- Star Wars saga;
- Lord of the Rings trilogy; and
- Beverly Hills Cop trilogy.

I also like animated films from Pixar, Disney and Dreamworks, as well as comedies from the 90's and early 2000's.

I could watch these movies all day when I get free time and need to stay inside. :)

Any movie will do, actually. I don't think there's any particular genre that fits a rainy day, for me personally.

It's raining outside! The fuck are you people doing wasting time inside watching movies? That's for when the suns out.

In High School PE, every time we had a rainy day, every single time, we watched The Sandlot. Since the period is only 50 minutes we basically watched the first half of that movie like 20 times.

Not a rainy day movie, but whenever I'm sick and can't sleep I always watch Goodfellas. :D

Just seeing this brought me back to when I was younger. I used to watch these all the time when I didn't have school as a kid. That and the appendices.
