It works well written down but if you said it out loud it would just sound like "Pun intentional"... as if you intended the pun.

This would be the opposite of what you were trying to say.

Punintential only works when written, like many has said. Of course, I do always intend puns when I use them. Only when I don't mean to, I'd probably just say "Don't mind the pun." and carry on. Saying Punintential defeats the whole purpose of not trying to include a pun in the first place.
