It's Valentine's so I thought I'd treat myself with a bottle of Six Sigma Sauvignon Blanc.

The best kind of wine is the kind that is poured down the drain.

The best kind of wine is wine that is actually not wine at all because it's vodka.

If being a wino was a career choice I'd be all over that.

im trying to become more appreciative of wine. I've been learning about their flavors and scents and colors. It's intense! Wine is its own art form.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sommelier

I know a guy who worked as that for a while, the pay was ridiculously good and he got to fly around to Italy and Spain etc. for wine tastings. So jelly ;__________;

Wine is amazing and the haters are just unrefined apes.

No no not a sommelier. I don't want to have to uphold any sort of classiness obligations. I just want to drink wine and be naked all day.

Now this is a thread I can get behind!

Sauvignon Blanc was the first wine I ever tried and, well, I haven't been able to will myself to like it ever since.

I prefer sweet wines to full bodied ones, so give me a Moscato, Riesling, or even a White Zin any day of the week. That's not to say I *only* drink sweet. I think merlot can be wonderful, and I've been trying a few different Malbecs lately. There's nothing better than a bottle of wine on a Friday night and the buzz I get from wine feels a lot more chill than one drinking Cuba libres.

In fact, I think I might go grab a bottle right now. Thanks, Tifa.

I prefer red wine to white wine. I have to be in the mood for red though, it's definitely a wine I like to have with a nice dinner - especially beef! I don't really have a favourite 'kind' of Red, but I love Merlot wines, and any wine that's in the dry category

I enjoy a glass of wine from time to time. :3 Nothing goes with a few crappy movies better than a bottle of wine. xD

I usually like cabernet sauvignons, I guess. I went wine tasting with my friends a few weeks ago and there were lots of wines I really loved, which was a bummer since I could only sip at my friends' drinks. I miss wine. :p

Also the price! But yes, the pretty labels have a large effect on my decision.

Same. I can't help it! I often pick on the name. I ended up really liking Cupcake and Fat Bastard though so clearly my method is superior.

Ruby porto. Madeira is also really good. When it comes to cheap wines, I prefer white. Red cheap wines are undrinkable.

When it comes to wine I like it classy in an adult sized box.

... but really I love wine tasting and pairing. Any wine as long as it is a good wine and not a shitty 6$ house wine that are more bitter than my exes but I have a preference to smooth rieslings and honeyed champagne.

This.

I love a nice bottle of Pinot Grigio... Sigolsheim was one of the nicest that I've had.

White wine pisses all over red wine.

I never really thought about this, but you might be on to something. I think it's harder to have really crappy whites, but reds are definitely worth spending a little more on. (Though expensive whites are ok, too!);)

You may as well ask if kool-aid counts. :colbert:

I forgot to mention, the other weekend I was visiting my parents and they had just bottled up their first test batch of wine. I got to taste it! It was actually really good despite the harsh winter and the lack of age.

It's a pretty cool project - Sweden isn't what you'd call a wine country, but the soil and conditions where my parents live caught the attention of a Spanish wine mogul who is backing the initiative financially and with expert knowledge. It's pretty exciting. :D

I've posted this before I think in another thread for alcoholics, but:

Best tasting ever.

I've been very disappointed lately with wines made by musicians I've followed in the past. Maynard Keenan's Caduceus Cabernet, Not Impressed. Dave Matthews' Dreaming Tree Cabernet, Bleh.

Maybe I just don't like Cabernet, but no, I do like Cabernet.

Generally, I prefer whites, but I've had some fantastic reds (none of them have been Merlot, though I'll never stop looking for one)

I really enjoyed Caduceus, it was a bit hefty in price, but it tasted amazing. Best red I've had to date.

A jewish holiday is not complete without a glass of Manischewitz. Yes it's is terrible, but that terrible taste is part of the experience and tradition. :p

Blueberry or Raspberry wine is the best dessert wine. :quina:

How to make cheap red wine drinkable: heat it up in a pan, add some honey and fruit slices, maybe some cinnamon. Enjoy!

The only good wines are the wines given to Bunny to pour down the drain, except rarely some muscadine wines.
