Limp Bizkit is still active.

I have no idea how this has happened.

Pretty sure Wes Borland agrees to tour every now and then so he can keep funding Black Light Burns.

Bob Dylan

Apparently his concerts are embarrassingly bad these days.

Are you sure we weren't just all wishing Fred Durst would die a decade ago?

Any band that has replaced their lead singer.

Must have just been wishful thinking.

Guys I just realized Blink-182 is still around too.

Hah, I had no idea they'd reformed. Everyone loved them when I was in high school. I still own and listen to Enema of the State and Dude Ranch occasionally. :p

They make me feel old.

I remember when I first heard that "Nobody likes you when you're tweeeenty-threeee" song; I was like 14 and I was all "omg 23, that's so old"

Now I'm 29 :(

Bob Dylan

They are, but he's still putting out some decent albums (although of a completely different nature than at his golden age). He can stick around for a bit.

The Rolling Stones.
Yep.

Guns N' Roses. Green Day. The Who. Metallica. Weezer. I have loved them all, but guys. Guys. Come on now, guys.

Fucking Mariah Carey. I remember my mom listening to her in the early 90's. How is it that she's still around and still pretending she's 20?

Oh hey he can't even spell "Magnum" properly ahahaha no wonder his music is so bad. Sounds like a mango. Jeff Mango.

Also The Postal Service should have never reformed.

Weezer.

But... but... Weezer needs to be around forever. :(

Watch out IMOM, Sarah will get you xD

Blur need to stop breaking up/releasing "limited edition" material every 7 Days, Green Day need to stfu, and Muse need to remember that they aren't staging a revolution.

NeoCracker
02-28-2013, 07:57 PM
Damon Albarn needs to drop Blur entirely and just stick with Gorillaz, that's the good project right there.

NorthernChaosGod

I was actually coming in her to say blink 182. U2 should probably pack it up too.

NeoCracker

Wait, didn't Blink 182 break up a while back?

Pike
02-28-2013, 08:28 PM
They got back together a few years ago or something

MILF obviously has terrible taste in music, and his opinions in this thread are no longer valid.

That is such a lie, you named two bands in a row that you know I listen to. :colbert:

The Who. I absolutely loved their music but come on, the 2 most talented members of the band are dead and they're charging £60 to see a show.
No.

I would say Thin Lizzy too but they retired the name as they were essentially a tribute act riding the coat tails of the name.

Helloween, divided opinion on this matter but without Kai Hansen and Michael Kiske they're an average power metal band that offers nothing ecstatic or groundbreaking to the genre compared to the monstrous band they once were.

Kai took to making a new band though where the "could have been" ideas of Helloween were put to work. Gamma Ray who are still amazing.

Anthrax and Megadeth are 2 other mentions since both are terrible terrible bands live today, sadly its the same with Metallica and now Slayer.

The Man
03-01-2013, 01:10 AM
Any band that has replaced their lead singer.

Come now, Faith No More is way better with Mike Patton than it was with Chuck Mosley. Also death metal is immune to this because it's usually impossible to tell one vocalist from another. Defeated Sanity have had a different vocalist on each of their four albums and I can't tell them apart.

Everyone who said Radiohead can smurf off. :colbert:

looking at you, alice in chains and sublime. for shame

however, journey has managed to do pretty well with their replacement (i can at least say this about steve perry's first replacement, steve augeri, since i saw them in concert during this period and if i hadn't known, i wouldn't have been able to tell)

Megadeth may be terrible live, but at least they still put out some good studio material. At least I think so. Metallica is another story though. :erm:

No, no, Lulu was fucking hilarious. I hope they release more albums like that!

The Man
03-01-2013, 01:35 AM
Death Magnetic was a perfectly respectable studio effort, except for the execrable mastering. Lulu is another story though, but that's basically a Lou Reed album with Metallica as the backing band :colbert:

NorthernChaosGod
03-01-2013, 01:41 AM
Death Magnetic was way better than St. Anger, but it's not really good enough to make up for it. :p If they put out a few more as good then I may change my mind.

Haha, yeah, same here. I'll be 28 in a few weeks and I remember hearing that song right at the beginning of high school, and there being a line in the song "And you still act like you're in Freshman year" and seeing the music video and my fundie foster parents flipping out because three naked tattooed dudes were running around in it. Hey, I just realized as of this may, I graduated high school 10 years ago. ;__;

smurfing Mariah Carey. I remember my mom listening to her in the early 90's. How is it that she's still around and still pretending she's 20?

I would agree with this, but then Madonna does it so much worse and she's been around since the 80's so she's double the Mariah.
