Co-worker: "Reno, you look a bit lighter today."

Me: "I look... wut?"

Co-worker: "Oh, all I mean is that you don't look as brown today."

Me: "WUT?"

Racist scumbag. People suck. :stare:

People arent allowed to tell other people theyre looking a bit pale now? Being concerned about someone's health is not racist!

And even if it wasnt meant that way, telling someone it looks like theyve got more of a tan than before isnt racist, so neither should telling people theyre less brown

Yeah, I've got to agree. If he told you you looked more ATTRACTIVE because you're lighter, that's one thing.

But you are aware of your skin colour. People who are around you are aware of it. I don't think pointing out you're darker than people is racist, unless they are saying you're inferior for it.

Gonna go ahead and point at blackmage's post on this one, it's correct.

I don't see anything wrong with saying someone is more attractive because they are a bit lighter either.

I mean, I'm pretty comfortable with saying I think women who have a light brown skin color are more attractive to me than women who are really pale. Why would it be bad for other people to be attracted to the opposite of this?

Okay, guys, I obviously know that he didn't mean anything by it. It just sounded like a weird way to phrase it. :greenie:

Now, share your stories, you people.

I don't believe you! You are seriously offended by what he said and you want to like kill him or something!

Around age 14 or 15, my aunt had told me I looked like I was "filling out." Which was okay, I was just coming out of an awkwardly gangly pubescent stage and needed some meat on my bones.

A year later she said I looked like I was "filling out" again and I just took that to mean I was getting fat. You don't fill out twice!

Come to my house, and I'll show you how much of a lover I am, and not a fighter.

When I was 15 I had my hair dyed black. Later, I got it lightened to red. My grandma said to me, "Oh, I'm so glad you changed your hair back. When it was black, it made you look like a slut!"

What are you gonna do, love me to death? You can't fool me!
