In 2012, Dark Horse comics released The Sky which was a limited-edition box set of books collection Amano's illustrations for 25 years of Final Fantasy games. Such a collectable piece of work surely sold out very quickly after it was made available.

On July 19, a special "Slipcase Edition" of the collection will be released in a series of three hardcover volumes. For any avid Final Fantasy fan, these will be an absolute must for a collection.

Amano is known for his very distinct, and at times, unusual artistic style which differs from the usual Japanese style of big eyes and cartoonistic anime style.

Here are just some of the pictures which will be included.

Good catch - they seem to have changed the release date from the one I reported on earlier this year :D

His art for Final Fantasy is very different to that which is what I was talking about as it is his signature style

Ah I saw this and already pre-ordered it! My friend was the lucky one that got the initial release (which now sell on Amazon anywhere between $500-1000), so I'm really happy to have the chance to get it now.
