View Full Version : If you could change your real name right now

What would you change it too and why?

If I were going to change my name right now, the very first thing that pops into my head is Zillah. The first time I heard this name was in 88 Lines About 44 Women (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/88_Lines_About_44_Women):

Zillah was an archetype
The voodoo queen, the queen of wrath

It just always stuck out to me since then. I name all of my (female) characters in video games Zillah. I like S/Z names and names that end with Hs, like mine. It's pretty unique and fits the bill, so!

Then I'd have to change my last name to something else, because Zillah Cobb sounds ridiculous.

I've always wanted to change my name to my middle name, Elayne. But when I hear my middle name and last name without my first name, it sounds do incomplete.

I like Sam/Samantha.

Zhayvar Qaxtain. I want to be a wizard.

Not sure about my first and middle off the top of my head, but I would remove my last name to something with an African background after I've researched which part of the continent my ancestors came from.

Why I'd want to do it, to remove the mark that's been stained from the oppressors of slavery.

Unless you want to be a camp villain - in which case it sounds amazing.

Is Jim a bit too obvious?

Actually, I wouldn't want to change my name, but being a big Dune fan I'd actually kind of like to stick Leto in there somewhere.

Jean-Luc Picard. But then, to live up to the greatness of the name, I'd actually have to be Patrick Stewart, and obviously that's an impossible life goal.

Zamora, because it's still cool and easy to pronounce since people seem to have trouble pronouncing my real name.

Is your real name Cthulu? People suck at pronouncing Cthulu.

I would change my name to Sir Albert Cocksworth.

The Man

It's Cthulhu anyway. Everyone always leaves out the second h.

Quindiana Jones

Y'know, as I was writing it, I felt it looked a little empty, but I couldn't pinpoint exactly what was missing. Cthulhu. That's much better.

I'd pull a Teller and just name myself Pike.

o_O. Pronounced "Oh Underscore Oh".

Ninja'ing it before Mike gets it. It's as great a name in meatspace as it is online, because your first name would be Oh and that makes for great situational comedy.

Fluttershy

(not really (http://www.equestriadaily.com/2011/06/brony-changes-his-name-to-fluttershy.html))

The Final Fanatic in me says Cloud. There was a guy in my jobseekers club (enforced government thing) a while back who I didn't know the real name of who claimed to have changed his name legally to Cloud but I'm pretty sure the supervisor called him "Robert" or something, so yyyyyeah.

Hmmmmm

How about Cloud Squall Dale
shortened to Cloud S. Dale
That could work.

Then the Trekkie in me says we also need to get into long distance space travel.

Captain Cloud S Dale of the USS Pegasus

I'd quite like to change one of my middle names to Formy actually. That way, I'd be either:

- Jordan Patrick Formy Cleary
- Jordan Formy O'Donnell Cleary

I prefer the second one to be honest.

Until you hear it pronounced by the people in this country, which is a sound more reminiscent of a million demons in hell vomiting into each other's mouths. If I get married, I'll probably switch to my wife's name :|

"Babbity Rabbity and her Cackling Stump is the stupidest title ever written by man or beast and of course when I wrote it, I never- I had not, at the point, when I gave Ron that title, I didn't imagine for a second that I was actually going to write the story"
