Recently I've had a bit of a sad because I realised I haven't baked in absolutely bloody ages! Goddamn life for getting in my way! I need to remedy this soon - so I may have a bit of a baking blitz next week!

Does anyone else on here enjoy baking? I love it, as my Mum, her Mum and her Mum were all cooks at local bakeries at one point in their lives, and also worked the school kitchens before they got all... shit (back when school dinners were made properly and not cooked from frozen! :p ) I kind of consider myself a bit of a fourth generation baker ^.^

I used to take my Gran to this class down at her Church hall called "Bread and Shred" in which (I shit you not) they'd bake cakes, bread and scones, and then shred any documents they had . What can I say, the little old ladies of the village would take up any excuse to get together. I think really it was just the baking class but they wanted it to have an angle or something, and at that time fraud from post theft was kind of a big thing. I digress....

My favourite things to bake are cupcakes for sure! I make really, really great cupcakes! I think my favourite are Lemon and Poppyseed because they're so light and airy and yet so yummy! And I love that speckled look inside of them.

I make a delightful carrot cake, and my Gran recently introduced me to Courgette and Walnut cake which is actually fucking gorgeous!

I love baking! Who else bakes? What are your favourite things to bake?

I do! I love baking! Had I not went back to university I would have applied for pastry school~

Cake. I love cake. I make a mean Spiced Pumpkin and Maple Cream Cheese Frosting with Roasted Pecans cake. :D

Once I made Pink Peppercorn Pavlovas with Basil Syrup and Strawberries. WAS FUCKING DELICIOUS with the whipped cream and strawberry coulis as well.

I love Apple Crisp as well. :D

I'd love to bake more, but, as has been tread before in a previous food thread, I'm woefully under equipped. I don't even have measuring cups :( It's a wonder I can bake my delicious oreo brownies.

I love baking and I have been doing it since I was 5ish~ :jess:.

It also seems to run in my family as every woman in my family except my aunt and including myself has won competitions with our baking.

I love love love baking. Cookies, cupcakes, cakes and brownies are the things I've made most often, but I need to get a little more creative and venture outside the box more with pastries and other sweets.

Wat.

Baking is so much fun. The best part is secretly eating the way dough or batter in the bowl that's left over after putting the cake/cookies/brownies in the oven.

The litter crust is crumbled cookies, and the poop is melted tootsie rolls.

I have to bake pretzels at work.... which I do not really enjoy. I know that if I ever tried to bake those things outside of work I wouldn't really mind though. On slow days I actually enjoy it some what as I can move at a more leisurely pace.

Outside of work, I have only baked once. I baked cream cheese-filled pumpkin muffins and they were fantastic. I need to get the urge to bake more often.

I hate baking, but I love all of these things.

That settles it: I'm moving in and we're going to eat cupcakes and play New Vegas together.

Baked today.

To be fair, it was two packet mixes with oreo wedged in between, but someone mentioned Slutty Brownies (http://www.thelondoner.me/2011/06/slutty-brownies.html) yesterday and it made me crave them SO SO bad.

One day I'll attempt them with my own brownie recipe and cookie recipe... But today is a lazy day so... :monster:

They look looooovely Locky! To be honest, they probably taste just as nice in a mix than they do fresh. Time is short you know?

Sam, these are so easy to make! You should really try them yourself!

They take like 15 minutes max to make, and they look so impressive and taste so good! They're perfect to take to a friends for a film night or something. In fact, I'm planning on making some to take to Scotland for Shauna, Smitten and BoB! :)

I have a chocolate and vanilla marble cake in the oven!

I'm making it for a charity coffee morning tomorrow! My Nan is making some cupcakes so I told her I'd make something too for the raffle! It smells so yummy! I'll be sure to put a pic up when it is done!

I just baked some low carb blueberry muffins. Used almond flour to make it low carb and sugar free syrup. It was ok. Definitely not as good as the real thing, but decent enough.

Honestly, and this will sound weird, but 99% of the reason I don't bake is because the process and seeing all the unmade ingredients and knowing that that's what's inside your food grosses me out.

I helped my mom bake cakes a couple of times as a kid and then I could never eat the finished product because everything that went into it smelled and looked really funny :barf:

For me it's a matter of what you don't know can't hurt you. I don't like to know how my food is made. xD

Yeah, but you'll get over it once you taste your creation. :D (That is, if it turned out edible and good.)

I made peanut butter and choc chunk cookies.

They are so so so good. And it's a recipe I adapted myself. The cookies have a lovely texture, which I can only describe as being very similar to shortbread which is weird but it works, they're so moreish and not too sweet!

I haven't baked in a while, but I do like it. I think I make really good cheesecake.

I also like decorating cakes, but I don't like eating them.

Made my first carrot cake last night. The edges were burnt, sadly, but the rest of it is actually really good. Not too shabby for a first time :monster:

I enjoy baking, yes. I baked a cat litter cake this one time. :D

The guy who owns the property & truck shop where my parents have their RV & big truck parked - his son made me a kitty litter cake for my birthday this year. lol It was really sweet. He even bought a brand new litter box (obviously) and scoop & he'd melted tootsie rolls to look like poop. I ate like a little bit of it, but the thought of it made me queezy feeling.

Anywho.. I bake sometimes. My mom used to make homemade sugar cookies with me at Christmas when I was little and I'd help her make her homemade yeast rolls (which she hasn't made in probably 15 years). She used to be the Queen of homemade baking, but now? Forget it. Itch don't even ever make homemade mashed potatoes anymore. She uses the flakes. She's gotten lazy. Whatever.

I bake sometimes. I'm not a huge junk food eater, so it's rare that I bake a cake or cookies or something. I make a -really- good tres leches (3 milks cake). And a really good pumpkin pie cheesecake.

I also think I've already posted on this thread. -_-;;;;

I'm a master... baker. But seriously though, I make the best fish cakes and squid pringles.
