Personally I am partial to an apple served with some mature cheddar and a bit of ham/chicken.

What about you?

Nuts are perfect; easy to grab, high in protein and fat, and super cheap. It's my thinking food at work.

I enjoy eating a whole grapefruit when I have the spare hour to kill and don't mind getting juice over everything. Also fresh sliced tomato w/ olive oil, salt, oregano and some sliced up chilli.

Thought of another great one: Cashews.

I will never stop extolling the virtues of these because they are godly.

Mmm. That tomato sounds soooo good. I love in the summer when my stepdad works at the Farmer's Market, and he brings home whole boxes full of tomatoes. I'll just cut one up and have it for my lunch.

I will never understand you people. How could anyone just eat a plain tomato? :stare:

You're the last person to scoff at food choices!

Also, they're good for you and full of flavour. Why not?

Actually thinking about it I could probably eat a whole package of cherry tomatoes in one sitting, I've just never tried it

No, no, you're right. A bucket of chicken feet is a much more normal alternative.

Pike, that is a salad (salad doesn't have to include lettuce), it's called insalata di pomodori (literally tomato salad xD) and traditionally it's made with sliced onions as well, but I don't like the raw onion in there as much so I'll have it without or replace it with something like fennel instead.

Depends on the tomato and if they are in season.

At work I'll eat a couple of handfuls of roasted almonds/carob chips, and a piece of fruit; with either almond milk or green tea.

No on the milk, yes on the tea. Or white tea. There's a great tea-house in Cincinnati, OH that has the best white tea I've ever tasted (not to mention their English Caramel, which has little chunks of caramel in it). The last few times I've been in Cincinnati I've forgotten to stop by and it's .

Aulayna! No penis jokes in this thread, come on!

This isn't The Snack Thread for Perverts.

Go play with your roasted almond anal beads elsewhere!

Let's get back to tomatoes. Tomatoes make great snacks, except they're messy. You bite into a tomato and it squirts juices all over your shirt and you feel uncomfortable with everyone staring at your chest the rest of the day. Cherry tomatoes are a good solution because they're pop-able, but I like biting them in half first, and that's a guaranteed mess.
