View Full Version : Ungodly Food Combinations

Basically, you take two food items, merge them together into a cacophony of unnatural proportions, and then eat.
This article (http://www.cracked.com/blog/fastfood-meals-for-failures/) documents just some of them, and I've actually tried something called the McGangBang. That is it's actual name and here's a picture of it.
http://www.cracked.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/gangbang.jpg
I really feel embarrassed, particularly in light of the good healthy food threads in QK and I've sort of dragged it down to greasy stuff again.
What food combinations do you enjoy eating? What things seem like they shouldn't go together, but...they just do?
It's also called a McCheek-in in certain parts, and if you haven't tried it, you're missing out.

McGangBang sounds more like an affront to God and all things holy, and so is fully appropriate for the naming of this...thing.
Try it before you knock it. Seriously.

I once mixed some tuna with some vanilla ice cream, and it was actually pretty good. You cook a tuna steak, and eat it with some vanilla ice cream. I know how abnormal this sounds, but the sweetness of the icea cream really compliments the saltiness of the tuna.

Reading that Cracked article nearly gave me a heart attack and I feel fat now :/
I will have to try that McGangbang someday.
@Chris: tuna goes very well with sweet things! My personal fav for back when I used to eat canned tuna is to jam it in between a soft raisin bun.

Peanutbutter and dill pickles
I discovered this by chance just the other day. I'd accidentally bought a jar of dill pickles (ie. the wrong kind). I mean, I don't dislike dill pickles, they're alright, but I can never get in the habit of eating them because I don't desire them so they just stand in the fridge taking up space. So I was trying to figure out some strange way I could really enjoy them. Tried this, expected it to be weird as hell, but it was great.

just like what we all said about ketchup and mayo

I almost said this too! :D Get some bread-and-butter pickles and make a pbp sandwich! So good.
Also, Pantz, are you saying you like sweet pickles? Sweet pickles are one of the most disgusting things on the entire planet.

Actually sweet pickles sounds more like the wrong kind I'm referring to. Or maybe bread-and-butter pickles? They're definitely sweet but bread-and-butter pickles is almost the literal translation of the name of what I mean. WHY ARE FOODS SO CONFUSING TO TRANSLATE.
Real pickles are salty, though.
If you bought dill pickle spears and you're looking to eat 'em up, here's another ungodly combination that's actually fucking delicious.
Use some deli meat ham, spread cream cheese on it, then put the pickle in the middle. Roll it up!

I accidently got mustard all over my roast beef sandwich yesterday and it was absolutely amazing! I'd have never tried combining the two since I rarely eat roast beef but man... I'm hooked now.
wait what, i thought it had generally been accepted since the dawn of roasting food that you put mustard on beef? what the hell else condiments are you supposed to eat with it (other than horse radish, which is also nice. but still.)

This.
Although mayo or cream cheese goes well with it too. And it has to be spicy brown mustard.

Decided I'd try one of these combinations.

What is wrong with you people. It doesn't taste good at all :monster:
Wtf is that peanut butter?
Also it's not crunchy, so there's part of your problem.
Kotora, I can't even tell what that is.

For clarification, I like dill pickle and regular smooth peanutbutter.
Other combinations are acceptable. :monster:
Oh, is that what Kotora posted?
Tora, you're probably doing it wrong. It has to be dill and in a sandwich.

I've never had 43139 with anything but melted cheese or au jus sauce. :colbert:

Spicy mustard and sliced roast beef is a classic combo. Try it on some rye bread! Welcome to the fold!

Just came in here to say that bread and butter pickles are an abomination unto God. Every time I bite into a pickle (usually on a sandwich of some sort) and find that it's not dill, a part of my soul dies. Dill master race will always reign supreme.
Aren't bread-and-butter pickles just sliced dill pickles?

hell nah foooooool! B&B pickles are sweet. I actually never made a distinction between B&B and sweet pickles, but some Googling tells me that there are some subtle differences.
It doesn't matter, they're all inferior to dill. Might as well just call them poop pickles because that's how they taste. :grover:
Sweet pickles are by the worst thing in the whole word.

This does sound like B&B pickles are what I accidentally bought and found they were good with PB. Dill pickles are great always though.

Sweet pickles are fine; they're just an acquired taste.
They're still not as good as dill, granted.

Sweet pickles are gross? Have you people never tried sweet relish?
This pickle and peanut butter business is making me physically ill. You jerks are wasting precious peanut butter.
Sarah these people just don't have good taste in pickles. You and me, we gotta stick together.

My family seems to enjoy weird combinations.
I, personally, enjoy toasted peanut butter and bacon sandwiches.
My mother enjoys toast with peanut butter and mayo.
My father enjoys mashed potato and plain chip sandwiches.

tldr; corn off the cob and mayo. I don't know what I was thinking when I dropped a spoonful of mayo on top of my corn off the cob, but it was delicious.

I'm fairly certain Mcdonalds is contractually obliged to offer you counseling after eating it.
Heck, they made me sign a will when I braved one.

Ranch dressing on green grapes. Worse decision I ever made.
Also yes, bread and butter pickles wtf. Horrible things. I accidentally bought those thinking they were just regular because I didn't bother reading the rest of the label. Dill pickles are clearly the Aryans of pickles.
I love both sour and sweet pickles, and I can eat them all day.

Shoe... no man, that should've registered as a terrible idea from the beginning. Hahaha
In lieu of caesar dressing today I just used fresh pineapple chunks and lemon juice. Tossed the croutons since that made it a little weird, but the net result of the overall salad was five stars. I'll nom that down every day.

I knew a girl that would eat salads with strawberries and grapes and like an entire container of ranch dressing. Shiz was -gross-.
My mom likes to put my dad's spaghetti sauce on her hot dogs. Dunno if it could be considered "ungodly".. I guess it'd be like a chili thing. But not really. IDK.
