View Full Version : 10 Things You (Maybe) Don't Know

I'm kind of addicted to US Magazine (mmhhmmm) and that whole "25 things you don't know" article usually annoys me 'cuz none of the celebrities put anything super interesting. SO, I'm shortening it to 10. What're 10 things we don't know about you?

1. I learned how to swim when I was 2 and was on my hometown's swim team when I was 3 (I was the youngest kid in the county).

2. I can "sing" in 6 different languages, but I'm only any kind of fluent in 2.

3. My dad and sister are both Googleable - but my dad is more interesting to look up.. 'Cuz you can find a couple of old photos of him in his sprint car.

4. I'm the only person in my family actually born in TN - everyone else was born in Ohio.

5. I'm only 3rd Gen American on my mom's side - my great grandparents came over on a boat from Ireland.

6. I'm also the only redhead in my family - I got it from my dad's mother, who we know nothing about.

7. I've lived in 3 different states (Arizona, Texas, Tennessee), but I've "moved" probably around 20+ times between '96 & '06.

8. I'm obsessed with bright colors - but my favorite is Yellow (my Ford Focus is yellow).

9. I can drive a standard shift car (& run) in heels.

10. In theory, I know how to drive a big truck (I used to sit in my dad's lap and he'd let me steer when I went with him. He taught me how to keep the center of the hood aligned with whatever lines are to the left). No one could pay me enough to actually turn it into a career, though.

This is extremely hard for me as quite a number of you know so much about me. So it's safe to assume these are ten things the average member who isn't a close friend of mine might not have heard or read about already that are to do with me. xD

1. I was nicknamed 'Flip-top lid' by my parents when I was really young because when I started talking, I wouldn't shut up. I still make concious efforts these days to stop talking at certain points. You can imagine how hard it is for me making a podcast. xP Despite this, I love conversation, so I think I'm at least tolerable. >_>;

2. I had a 'cackle' laugh as a kid that I got teased over heavily, and ever since I have not really had a specific laugh due to my insistence on changing it (successfully, I might add). Some people have noted this saying that I laugh differently all the time... I can't think of what a default laugh of mine would be like anymore. Even uncontrollable laughter changes for me. I don't know if this is normal or not.

3. When I was younger, my role model was Dave, my third-cousin who boarded at our house. He was a very good motorcycle racer, winning many races and multiple divisions, and I always wanted to be one too. I had all kinds of posters of my favourite motorbike racers on my wall at the time. Naturally, though, as I aged, girls replaced bikes and my dreams changed. I can still certainly appreciate a nice bike, though, and I look forward to returning to the bike races someday.

4. I am very good at keeping secrets and I do not use the world 'promise' lightly at all. I find these things to be very serious. When I was about seven or eight years old, I was told by a friend of mine that he liked a girl and told to keep it secret, and I told someone else, and they teased him about it. I lost my friend that day, and he wasn't my best friend or anything, but I learned a lesson quickly and to this day if I promise something, I mean it, and if I'm told a secret, I bloody keep it.

5. I have changed my avatar... once. Someone else has changed my avatar once, too. The latter person had my blessing, though. :p

6. I'm fairly certain I have been in hospital or a 'super clinic' (for surgery, so I count that) at least once every year of my life for the first eighteen years of my life. Because of my frequent visits to hospital and how many times I've been put under anaesthetic, the dentist was able to put me to sleep simply to remove some teeth. I woke up something like within five minutes of the time they expected me to!

7. I have been to every town in the North Island of New Zealand, and never set foot in the South Island at all. The closest I had gone to overseas before moving the the other end of the world (UK) was when I went to Great Barrier Island off the coast of North Island.

8. I once wrote an encyclopedia on Dinosaurs at around the age of nine or ten. It was a combination of information from about three or four different dinosaur books I had. It's presumably gone now - I think it was typed out on the 186 or 286 PC we had at the time.

9. Perhaps more common knowledge, but not so to some of our newer members - inspired by Final Fantasy and Lord of the Rings, I created my own world in high school. It has history, it has lore, it has religion, it has politics, it has characters, it has trade routes (I kid you not), it has villains, it has fantasy races unique to Aiyon... I have many, many maps and a few books on it, not to mention files. My dream is for it to be turned into both an RPG and an an MMORPG which, in my head, is very different to the MMORPGs seen today - imagination allows this, if hardware and money do not, ha!

10. According to all reviews I've been given, I give a fantastic shoulder/back massage. Only about five to ten people know this because only five or ten people have ever suggested I give them a massage (or been my girlfriend, thus meaning they don't need to ask). The last girl I massaged that wasn't Danielle was someone at work who demanded it of me jokingly so I gave her a 5-10 second massage and she actually groaned out loud right there in the office, and everyone just stared. It was embarrassing but hilarious. xD She insisted I give her more massages but I wouldn't do it because I was scared she might do it again. When I was about fifteen years old, before I properly understood exactly what 'power' I held in my hands, I gave a very attractive friend of mine a massage and within a minute or two her bra was off and she was lying on the ground requesting I cover a wider area. I mean, I liked her and I didn't get the hint. I was such a massive idiot back then. Either way, I still get asked for rubs and massages by Danielle on a regular basis. I do guys, too. Yes, go on, take that out of context, I know you want to. xP

1. I am of Danish, Filipino and Spanish origin.

2. I almost exclusively listen to music from the '40s and before.

3. I'm 5'10".

4. I have five half-brothers, all of which are adults (30-45).

5. I was a junior wrestling champion. No really, I have a couple of gold medals. :|

6. In his yougner days, my dad was a famous dude here in my country. :eep:

7. I have yet to achieve that. ^

8. I'm not sure if I believe that it is okay for a gay couple to adopt or have children. I just think that there are some things that a father can't teach her daughter, and a mother can't teach her son. I dunno. Perhaps I am old-fashioned.

9. I am incredibly sensitive and I fall hard, and too easily, in love. I wish I knew how to change this aspect of myself, but on the other hand, I don't believe anyone should ever apologize for being able to feel too deeply.

10. I don't watch or read the news, so half of the time I have no clue what is going on in the World around me.

I like to make maps in my spare time.
I'm afraid of earthworms
I'm an excellent shot with a rifle

I'm allergic to tequila! It makes my tongue swell and I get itchy. It's not too dramatic but enough to be irritating. All other alcohol is fine.
On that note, I'm allergic to near every pain pill. Advil, ibuprofen, aspirin. Only one i can take is Tylenol and I have a slight allergy to that too!

1. If it came between picking the love of my life or my dog to separate from, I would keep my dog.

2. I have four rings that I wear all the time that have not come off my fingers since I got them. Not when I sleep, not when I shower, not when I go swimming, not if I'm cleaning. Three of them I got in 2006, one was recently in the last couple years. If I were to lose any of them, I would go nuts, both for extreme sentimental reasons and because I would feel naked and uncomfortable and sad.

3. In relation to #2, I put way too much sentimental value on certain possessions of mine that I've either had for many years, that were given to me or that I acquired from my grandmother's death. I feel like sentimentality is a pretty common thing for most people, but I'm afraid of my level turning into hoarding when I'm older, especially since I've had to purge so many things I didn't want to purge with moving around the past couple years. When the apocalypse comes, I am going to lose my trout.

4. I never met my father's father before he died. His name was Billy and he was a true hermit, prone to agoraphobia and anxieties and mental problems of every kind, leaving him with a crippling fear and hatred of leaving the house and interacting with anyone at all. I think he died... two or three years ago, and he never met any of his couple dozen grandchildren. Only in the past few years have we (my dad and my sisters) realized we are predispositioned to some of the ailments from him.

5. I want to dye my hair teal and pretend I'm a mermaid.

6. I'm left-handed.

7. I missed out of my fifth grade spelling bee on the word "coercion" and have hated that smurfing word ever since (I was certain it was spelled "coersion" and had blasted through words that seemed much harded that that). Made it to the last five, though!

8. My dad looks and sounds so much like Harrison Ford to me that when I watched Raiders of the Lost Ark for the first time when I was five, I truly believed that my dad was Indiana Jones, and I was absolutely dumbstruck at how they made him look older and different than he was. Couldn't figure it out, but it felt super cool that my dad was Indy.

9. Sweet and sour food of any kind makes me puke, and just a whiff of it will make me gag and DANGER ZONE. (I'm getting a rock in my throat just thinking about it now.)

10. My memory problems make me increasingly concerned that I will develop Alzheimer's when I get older. That scares the trout out of me because when your life has come and gone and you have no memory of it, what do you have?

A lot of those things I knew about you, Shorty. Do I get a prize? It is hard to come up with ten things abour myself and especially hard to come up with things worth noting, but here goes...

1. A lot of you know I did ballet, but I also did tap dancing. I won things for both.

2. I didn't bother learning how to drive until I was 21.

3. Regardless of my short stature, I am extremely good at basketball.

4. I always have trouble spelling definitely when I am writing it because it looks weird to me. Some how I have no problem spelling it on my phone.

5. Speaking of phone, this year, 80 percent of my posts I do on my phone.

6. I once convinced a girl that I was related to Scary Spice. She almost cried when I told her I couldn't get her concert tickets.

7. I was born a yellow baby. Like actually yellow. Not azn yellow.

8. Despite doing well academically, I would frequently piss some of my teachers in high school off by being late or argumentative. I got away with saying a lot of crap to them. Comments on my report card were always, "works hard, is a pleasure to have in class". Wtf?

9. Many people think I am adopted as I look nothing like either of my parents.

10. Can't think of a #10 :p

1. I am about 55% black, 45% Native American, and 5% white.

2. I once owned about 950 video games. Since then, the biggest amount of games I've had is about 465. I've rebuilt my collection a total of 3 times since I was 4 years old. Now that I don't have much disposable income, I've had to sell most of my games and systems again.

3. I am the second child my mom has had out of 3, and the only one to live. The other 2 were girls. One would have been 28, the other 14. I was given a 10% chance to live at birth, and was born a month prematurely. I attribute my not dying to the bad luck I've had my whole life.

4. I have Marfan syndrome, which is a disease that affects the skeletal system and (usually) the heart. Luckily, I don't have any of the heart problems, just the disfigurement and problems with my joints. As a result of the joint problems, I already have arthritis at 24.

5. I look nothing like either of my parents, and like Shiny, I was born with jaundice, and was completely yellow.

6. I can't eat Rolos. There's some ingredient in them, that every time I have eaten them, I've gotten sick. To this day, I haven't figured out which ingredient it is.

7. Despite being mostly black, I have a non-black-sounding voice. This has led to many occasions where people who heard me on the phone were surprised to see that I'm not A. white or B. an old man. I also get mistaken as being slow, since I talk with a slur as well, which is only noticeable in real life. Some people don't notice anything wrong with my speech, while others do for some reason.

8. I have a large variety of music on my MP3 player, ranging from Paramore to Steely Dan to Prince to Diana Ross to Hoobastank. It throws people off when they ask what I'm listening to and I tell them.

9. I used to draw a lot. Like, full comic books. Even used to print them multiple times and sell them. Don't have the time to do it now though. I think my old art thread from 8 years ago is still here too.

10. Up until a year ago, I still had my old Little Tykes ride-on bulldozer. That is the possession I've had the longest (20 years), other than the dresser in my room, which I've had for about 17 years.

1. If I was born a girl, my name would have been Elizabeth. I know this with 100% certainty because my parents thought I was a girl up until the point I was born.

2. I have lived in 9 different states.

3. From 4th grade until I was roughly 20 years old, I moved at least once every year, mostly in and around San Diego county.

4. I have almost died a dozen times from random and bizarre circumstances.

5. I was named after my great-great-grandfather on my mother's side.

6. I am significantly Polish on my mother's side of the family, significantly German on my father's side, and Native American on both. I also have some English and Irish in me.

7. I did not know where I was born until I was in middle school.

8. I frequently think about my mother's death without shedding a tear but whenever I think about my cat Kirby I get fairly emotional.

9. I have a tendency to purposely burn bridges every couple years in order to prevent people from getting too close to me. There is no real reason to this, and it is pretty stupid because I later regret doing it, but I cannot help it.

10. Despite the image that I present anywhere on the internet and in real life, I am actually severely depressed and hate myself to an almost obsessive degree. I used to fantasize about committing suicide but never went through because I was afraid of what people would think, specifically family and friends, if I failed. Nowadays I do not actually want to die, but I still think about it from time to time.

man.. how the hell do i follow that.... alright i will try anyway

1. I often think of strange ways to die (not picturing anyone in particular.. lets say i use a dummy in my head for it).. like if things happened on accident or maybe not... for instance just jerking the wheel all the way to the left... or falling off something tall..

2. My father was an orphan and 1st gen us born.. he is also 100% Italian

3. I have been homeless and had no job, no money and come back from it

4. I have lived in 4 different states, Maine, Mass, Florida, and i am back in North Dakota for the second time

5. I took algebra in 9th grade and passed with an A... I then moved to ND and took it for the next 4 years not actually getting graded it on since they accepted the grade from the previous school but did not have advanced placement (so much for getting ahead in life early)

6. I got all my partying days out of the way before i was 18, did lots of drinking and drugs

7. I used to have a prince albert

8. I don't really talk to people much in person, I find most common talk to be boring, whether it be politics, sports, or cars, or bla bla bla, about the only thing i care about talking about most of the time is movies, music, video games, women, or porn (yes porn, I used to work in a porn store and i still try to keep up with my knowledge of toys and videos and whatnot)

9. I hate most people in public, I find way too many people to be stupid and i also hate myself for thinking that because sometimes it isn't that person's fault, I just have a hard time dealing with stupidity, I also get really annoyed at people who are trashed drunk to the point i just want to punch them in their slurring mouth

10. I dated a girl for 3 years, she got pregnant, had the child, 11 months after she was born I found out it wasn't mine. became severely depressed, gained a bunch of weight, smoked over a pack a day, drank quite a bit.. took me a while to calm down from it all but sometimes when i see small children whether it is irl, online, or even in commercials, i cry

I don't know how many of these things some people will know, but anyway...

1. I could drum before I could walk, my parents would prop me up with cushions on the floor in front of live concert betas my Dad owned and give me pots, pans and chopsticks, I could apparently keep time with all the songs. I was given my first drumkit on my 3rd Birthday and to this day have no recollection of learning to play drums, I've just always been able to do it.

2. I am predominately Italian and will actually be receiving my dual citizenship later this year.

3. I saw a therapist for 7 years and will occasionally talk to her to this day, although it's only been maybe once or twice a year ever since I was 18.

4. When I was growing up I attended about 10 different primary schools (we'd finally settled on a town by the time I got to highschool) and lived in at least double that amount of houses.

5. I have no memories of my parents together in a relationship.

6. Italian was my first language. I can't speak it as well anymore, but I'm re-learning it.

7. I had never left Australia until last year.

8. Up until I was about 16 all I would drink is coke, now I won't touch the stuff unless I'm having it with alcohol or it comes with a fast food meal (although I drank a shit tonne of cherry coke in USA)

9. If I were a born a girl my name would have been Josephine, named after a song my Mum loves. Instead I'm named after my uncle and they settled for making my middle name Joseph.

10. Jesus, this really is hard to think of interesting facts. Um...I own a chicken, her name is Carina and I talk to her a lot more than a normal person should.

*Cybernetic-High-Fives shion because Donnie Darko is a brilliant movie*

1. I can never remember people's names. Their faces, yes, but never their names. Because of this, I have always come up with a nickname for everyone that I talk to - the only exception being family members and people who I should address in a formal manner. I even have a nickname that everybody addresses me by and I'm never really addressed by my proper name.

2. I love watching movies / reading books / playing games that have very depressing storylines. I don't know why, I'm just always in the mood for watching or reading something depressing or something that is heavily emotionally-impacting.

3. I had an obsession with arthropods (also reptiles and amphibians) when I was young. To this day, my favourite animal is still the Praying Mantis. I've never understood why people find bugs disgusting as they are actually quite clean. Seriously, I had a pet praying mantis and it would clean itself (much like a cat does) by wiping it's claws over its head. How adorable.

4. I read up on mathematical theories and scientific studies in my spare time and am very fond of mathematics. I have calculus in my mind so often that whenever somebody mentions the words 'differentiate' or 'integrate' I have to call it and tell everyone to take a drink.

5. Despite feeling extremely uncomfortable with any physical contact, I feel obliged to high-five somebody whenever somebody mentions the word 'mathematics' or says something to do with mathematics in a non-school related environment.

6. Despite being mathematically-inclined, I have a fondness for art and love to write fiction and draw artwork to go with a fictional world that I created many years ago (and am still working on). Like BoB, it was inspired by The Lord of the Rings (and has it's own maps, cultures, languages, flora & fauna, history, mythology, etc) and I hope to one day write a full-length novel about it.

7. I can't stand being with a lot of people. I don't mind being in a crowd, but when I'm specifically with a group of people - four is the maximum for my comfort.

8. I'm very obsessive-compulsive when it comes to cleanliness and I like everything to be planned and organised on time. I can't stand it when people don't wash their hands after using the bathroom or after eating, etc. AND I have a few friends that pick at their ears or nose and just touch everything afterwards - it makes me want to disinfect the place after they leave. D:

9. The first final fantasy game that I played was the first final fantasy. Except, because I'm a youngling, it was the GBA version. I played the second one next and X was my third. Although people tend to favour their first (or one of their first) game in the franchise, I am forever switching between VI and IX - two of the last games that I played in the series. - On the note of gaming, I am also not much of a gamer at all and I only really play final fantasy and Little Big Planet ('tis a great game).

10. I really dislike it when people speak informally - as in; incorrect grammar and internet-speak in the real world. I can't stand it when people use shortened words like 'legit' or when they give people titles like 'scene', 'hipster', 'mainstream', etc. Can you not explicitly state your interests without people insulted? If people accentuate something popular, they get scolded for being 'too mainstream' and if they have certain quirk about them that's different, they get called 'hipster'. Agh, it's frustrating to listen to.

So yeah, enjoy those 10 elongated facts.

Well, here goes;

The only person in my family (of almost 30 people) that I'm related to by blood is my mum, she was adopted.
I know absolutely nothing about my mums heritage other than the fact that she's almost all Cuban. Which makes me of Cuban/Irish/??? descent.
I was born in Charleston S.C. but I've only been there twice.
I've never met my birth father.
I was originally named after my bio-dad, William Carl Nichols 3rd, thank god we got that changed haha.
Found out about three years ago through a person-finding site that he had another child and named it, William Carl Nichols 3rd. Evidently I never existed.
I'm a single dad with a 2 year old daughter.
I was once kicked out of my parents home when I was 17 for dating my alcoholic girlfriend behind their backs for 7 months without their knowledge.
Said (recovered) alcoholic ex-girlfriend is also my oldest friend to this day, we've known each other for going on 15 years now and, fun fact, we were born only 6 hours apart but I was born on the 5th of November and she on the 6th. I always love tossing it in her face that I'm older than her. :p
I might have mentioned it a few times before but whatever; When I was 2-ish my bio-dad drunkenly held me up to a cockatoo, it then proceeded to bite my nose in half and I still have some breathing problems but only a scar and a bump on my nose from where the bones never set to show for it.

These are interesting to me and I'll explain why.

I have a half-brother who used to live near Charleston, SC named William. His first name is William and his middle name starts with an "E" (I can't think of the name now).

Now, my dad was William Charles (last name). He had William E. (last name) and then later on had William Charles (last name) III. I was actually about to be named William Charles as well, but my mom vetoed that idea. I also found out about WCIII in the same manner that you did, through a person-finding site, three years ago, right before my dad died. My dad came clean and mentioned I had a half-brother named Billy, and that he hadn't seen him in 45 years. He'd been trying to find him, but he didn't wanna be found. Turns out he works not too far from where I live.

My dad came clean and mentioned I had a half-brother named Billy, and that he hadn't seen him in 45 years. He'd been trying to find him, but he didn't wanna be found. Turns out he works not too far from where I live.
Wow that's scary close to my background! Wild world eh? :jess:

I'm not too interesting but here we go...

1. I'm very pale, yes, but I'm also the palest person in my family, along with the only one with green eyes. I look way more Irish than anyone else in my family with Irish blood. Maybe I was the mail man's child? :P

2. My cousin and I are going to the same college. We also unknowingly picked the same Confirmation name, Frances/Francis.

3. I have 4 cats and have never lived without a cat. I fucking love cats, dude.

4. I've lived in the same house my whole life.

5. I'm not as innocent as I look. Not at all. Nope.

6. I have one sibling, a half-brother who is 29.

7. I've only been to one other country in my life, which is Germany. I love Germany because it's a huge part of my heritage and a beautiful country.

8. I love watching Bollywood movies. I have no idea why. They're just super fun (and really long lol)

9. I have a massive crush on the lead singer of Queens of the Stone Age, Josh Homme. I don't care if he's 40, he's smoking hot.

10. If I were a boy I would have been named Christopher. :D

3. My mother met my father when she was in the car he stole.

4. I have been to 9 countries outside of the USA.

5. I duck hunt! :)

6. I keep Lake Malawi Hap & Peacock cichlids.

7. I prefer cats to dogs

8. I come from at least 7 generations of dairy farmers.

9. One of my favorite summer activities is Paintball :D

1. When my Mum was pregnant she watched a show called 'The Camomile Lawn' which starred Tara Fitzgerald.... Which is where she got my name from! :D Which is cool because my first 'encounter' with Tara Fitzgerald was in the film 'Brassed Off' which I studied at A-Level and I looovvveeeddd her and thought it was so cool we were both a 'Tara'.

2. I also loved 'Brassed Off' because it reminded me so much of my time in a Brass Band! So number 2, is that I played in a Brass Band for two years! I loved it, and I can probably still play trumpet, cornet, and soprano cornet. I was the lead/solo cornet!

3. I quit brass band to focus on school and college. I now wish I had pursued music more!

4. I also wish I had further pursued art. I used to be an awesome artist, and I think had I done more art, I would have pursued a career as a tattooist, as it's a very new found passion and love of mine.

5. Something else I did in my younger years was training dogs and competing. I have several awards for this, and I do miss it. But as I grew up I started to lose my passion for that, and found a bigger love for breeding and rearing our dogs.

6. I saved a dogs life. One of our litters, one pup came out very cold and wouldn't feed, so I took him and wrapped him in the blanket and stroked him for over two hours. He survived - he now has loving owners, and his best friend is their son, Alexander. I named the puppy Xander from day one - the owners kept that name. Alex and Xander

7. You may not know this but err, I love Buffy! I really don't think I've expressed my fandom for Buffy the Vampire Slayer on here enough at ALL. I watch it through at least once a year, and I have specific episodes I watch if I'm feeling sad, if I need cheering up, if I just want to cry etc etc... I really feel like the scoobies are a part of my life in a big way. The older I get the more I appreciate some of the storylines too.

8. I hate Mayo. It's the GROSSEST stuff ever. I'm sort of coming around to it though, I can just about handle it in a sandwich. I can't even stand the smell though, it knocks me sick and it's just one of those things that my body just does not want to go past my lips. EW.

9. One of my favourite memories is dancing with my Grandad. I never knew him, he had severe, severe dementia. So the Grandad I knew was, well, I don't know gone, he couldn't even speak. My Nana used to tell us that parts of his brain had went to sleep. Anyway, sometimes if he was getting upset or something or stressed, I'd sing and he'd start singing back and then he'd grab my hands and dance with me, and it felt like in those moments that for a short time I knew my Grandad.

10. Um um um um ummmmmmmmm..... I can never pick a 'favourite' animal because I'm so indecisive and I love all animals. Same with when I have to pick who I am in a TV show. Part of me is like "Well, I think I'm like Buffy but I'm also shy like Willow, but then I can sometimes be quite tactless like Cordelia!" I can never choose anything and decide on it. It's amazing that I can pick a tattoo that I want to be on me forever, really.

1. I have dimples in my shoulders. They're absolutely my favourite part of myself.

2. I'm incredibly insecure, and I have a huge fear of being ignored. A lot of times when I'm mean or I lash out, it's because I feel like no one cares or knows that I exist.

3. I have an intense dislike of flip-flops. I think they are one of the worst things ever created. The only, ONLY time they are acceptable is when people are just popping to the store, or going to the pool.

4. When I'm nervous, I recite things in other languages to call me down. This now includes sign language.

5. I used to have such an intense problem with social anxiety that I actually had to drop out of high school. A year later, I decided to face my fears, and went back. Graduating was one of my biggest accomplishments, and meant a great deal more to me because I made the choice to overcome my issues.

6. I once ate 16 tacos in one sitting.

7. I almost pursued a college degree in vocal performance. The only reason I changed my mind is because I HATE music theory. It's just math with music and pretty symbols.

8. I am an only child, but should be the oldest of three children. My sister Malissa was stillborn, and my brother Jonah died when he was a day and a half old. I really enjoy being an only child, but sometimes I really wonder what it would've been like to be a sister, and I wish that I would've gotten the chance. Also, because of this, I feel a lot of pressure to be a good daughter towards my mom, as she still struggles with that to this day.

9. I am surprisingly conservative, but very few people know that about me. I'm afraid to air my more conservative views, as I feel I'll be ostracized for them.

10. I have a very tiny gap in my teeth. It used to be huge, but it grew together in just a few days right before my 14th birthday. I recently went to my doctor, and found out that I've damaged my jaw because of how much I grind my teeth, and I need to wear a mouth guard. I dd so for a few days, but I stopped, because I was convinced that it was re-widening my gap. (It in reality, wasn't, but I just couldn't reconcile my insecurity with what I really knew). This is why I think I hate gaped teeth so much, and why I am sooooo weird about people's teeth.

I'm picky about teeth. I can't stand to look at someone with a jacked up grill. My ex-sis-in-law had meth mouth so bad, the dentist told her it'd cost $16,000 to fix her junk. She'd smile or laugh and I'd be like "Nessa... I love you, but please don't look at me if you have to smile. It makes -my- teeth hurt"... My brother had to have most of his teeth pulled from the drug and his wife's look like they've got algae growing on them. It's disgusting. I can't deal.

1.) My mom told me she thinks artificial grape flavor smells like cat piss, so I got a whole roll of the grape flavor Bubble Yum to piss her off when I was a kid because she wouldn't get off my back about less than stellar grades.

2.) My parents are huge Pink Floyd fans, as am I. As a result, I have seen Pink Floyd live twice in my life. Not many people my age can say that.

3.) I once consumed a whole fifth of Captain Morgan in two hours. Half of that fifth was consumed in a half hour. Those lucky enough to be in #eoff the night I told the resulting aftermath knows what went down after that.

4.) Based on how the song sounded when I was very youg, I interpreted the Pink Floyd song "Careful With That Axe Eugene" as "The Pumpkin Song." I gave my dad very brief descriptions of why I envisioned that. As a result, my dad wrote me a children's book that is read along to the song. The story is about a Pumpkin that was just chilling when a flying pig on the wing ominously came from the dark side of the moon claiming to be just going about its business. He then attempted to murder the pumpkin by dropping his axe at him, but luckily the pumpkin sprouted arms and legs and dodged in time. The axe proceeded to give chase to the pumpkin through a forest with various animals and even though a white brick wall. My dad chose to leave the story with an open ending. You never see what happens to the pumpkin, but one of the last pages features the pig eating pumpkin pie. My dad still reads this story to me every Halloween.

5.) My first memory is when I was barley a year old. I actually remember the feeling of grasping language, but being unable to speak it.

6.) I have been told I look angry most of the time. It's a defense mechanism that I unknowingly developed because I took being picked on as a child way too personally. When I saw a therapist a few years ago, she later confessed to me that she was legitimately thought I was going to yell and scream, or at least have some sort of epic meltdown during our first session before she got to know me. I rarely do any of those things. If anything, I think I am more laid back, and prone to simply bitching about a problem instead of exploding over it.

7.) I suck at eye contact. It's not a shy thing. It's a sensory overload for me. I can do it if a professional setting calls for it, but otherwise I feel like I am peering into someone's soul, and that makes me uncomfortable.

8.) I once had a bad day in school when I was in 6th grade. We were forced to keep a journal, so I wrote very negative things in blood from a picked scab and casually talked about suicide. I didn't know that I would miss half a day of school the following day. So my whole class thought I actually killed myself. To this day I think that's one of the unintentionally funniest things I have ever done.

9.) In a school yard fight I pulled off a Tiger Uppercut.

10.) I have dreams that connect years apart. Don't know why that is. For example I met two children in a dream when I was a kid. Years later, I had a dream as an adult where I met them and they, of course, were adults too. In shorter time periods, I will have a dream where a bathroom or something is under construction. Months later I will be in the same place and the room is fully furnished.

I did this and tried to submit it but I was inexplicably logged out. I don't want to do it again.
