How often do you use them? What do you know about them? when you see them what do you think?

Sometimes I still use them when I save a file because I'm old and we didn't used to have spaces in filenames and it's habit.

When I want to separate something from another....thing. The best example is when I will tell a story and say something like: The story is below:

occasionally when programming but i'm more likely to camelCase when it comes to variable names.
otherwise I don't use them much.
and really, I don't feel anything when i see them. unlike ampersands, which are lovely &&&

I find underscores to be distasteful besides the good use of splitting info up or creating headings.
It's use in usernames just looks unsightly in my opinion.

I use underscores to make facies, and to play fill in the blanks games.
I don't even use underscores as a part of smileys anymore. It reminds me too much of my ^____^;; using days. :barf:
