Were there ever any words/phrases you heard while you were a silly little child that you completely mistook the meaning of? :p

I thought pitcher or water was picture of water (the language barrier didn't help) and when someone asked me to bring out a pitcher of water I went through all of my photo albums looking for a picture of water and came out with a picture of a lake. I got some looks.
There are more but I cannae think of them right now :(.
When I was growing up I lived in NW Washington State and there were signs pointing to "Vancouver B.C."
I thought for sure that B.C. was used as in, you know, before year zero, and that following the signs would take you back in time.

Prima donna, or as my child mind thought it, "Pre-Madonna."
You know, what music is known as if it was recorded before Madonna's career took off.
Any use of "Madonna" to mean anything other than the singer confused little me.

Even more confusing, as a Madonna is a representation of Mary. So people often refer to her as the Virgin Madonna. Madonna = Like a Virgin. :(

I remember having the meanings of "the other day" and "yesterday" backwards in my head when I was probably four. I would be telling my grandma about something that happened "yesterday" and she'd be like "That was last Wednesday, idiot!" Preschoolers are stupid.
