What is the weirdest thing you've ever fried, and have turn out quite surprisingly delicious?

I know that this sounds abnormal, but in 2005, I visited the Philippines, and during my visit I tried some deep fried snake. And even though I'm petrified of snakes, it was actually quite delicious and surprisingly tender.

Oh my god, never before have I so badly wanted to ban your ass.

How about this. I am going to dip you in a vat of boiling fry oil and then we will all feast upon your crispy corpse like vultures on carrion. And then, my friend, I will put you here as an option in this thread and we will vote on how you taste. It will be a bonding experience for the rest of EoFF unlike any before.

I've had those! They were damn good. Deep fried snickers was okay. There was a selection of deep fried sticks of butter, but I chose to forgo those because someone gave me a gun to play with instead so it wouldn't have to take as long.

Why would you eat a poor defenseless snake :( Snakes are the loveliest creatures, especially sand boas. When I worked at PetSmart I'd take the sand boas out of their habitat and let them crawl up my sleeve and around my arm and it was adorable :3

"You think I'm an ignorant savage,
You've been so many places,
I guess it must be so.
But still I cannot see,
If the savage one is me.

How can there be so much that you don't know?
That you don't know..."

Surprisingly I don't eat that much fried food, and even less deep fried food. I am a bad Scot. :(

Beaver Tails are fried right?

Note: not actual beaver tails.

No, it's like fried dough I think?

It doesn't taste like a cookie it tastes like.... a beaver tail?

Erm...

It usually tastes like what you put on it and it's kind of mildly crunchy and sort of smooth.

Ask peeg, he had some when he visited me.

Yeah, fried dough!

Frybread - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frybread)

If you want to make them super fast and slightly ghetto/easy, we sometimes just buy the Pillsbury biscuit tubes and stretch them and rolls them etc to get them pliable, then flatten them out and fry them.

I have a co-worker who likes to tell people that he could deep fry a dog turd and it'd taste delicious.

And boy howdy, is he right.

ahahahaha Sarah I was so confused because those things look nothing like scones so I looked it up and

In Utah, the bread products locally called "scones" are similar to Native American frybread and are made from a sweet yeast dough, with buttermilk and baking powder and/or soda added, and they are fried rather than baked. They are customarily served with butter and either honey or maple syrup.

You have no idea. butter, honey and powdered sugar that bitch uuup.

Alternatively, we would eat them like tostadas or just put chili and cheese on them. You can do anything with them, really. I bet they'd be good with ice cream and syrup, for fuck's sake.
