Dunno the last time there was a northeast meetup, but would anyone be interested in doing this for real?

I really want to meet me some Faris and TSoL.

No, you guys come see me.

I'm lonely :(.

Depends on how far northeast (I'm Mid-Atlantic), and how far into the future. I will be starting a new job in September, so won't have a lot of spare vacation time for a little while after that.

The last northeast meeting was 2011, right? That's when Jiro, Laddy, and Baloki all came to visit DC, and I showed up because I lived nearby.

Depends on when and where as I'm about to become a college student with no life.

When/where would this be? I could maybe do this. :I

If it's between Aug 30 and Sept 11, Lynx and I could make it, depending on location.

Well, does anyone have any SUGGESTIONS of places?

I can make an NYC meet up. I live in Boston so I could make that too. :monster:

NYC is probably the most convenient location, despite being a [insert 3 page rant about how I don't much care for NYC]

I'd go anywhere in the Mid-Atlantic though, assuming this would be on a weekend. I live in eastern PA so everything would be reasonably distanced

NYC probably makes the most sense, but I think it'd be extremely expensive for rooms and stuff. Boston might be better on that regard.

Still, I think there's more EoFFers who live in/are close to NYC, and it seems to be a central meeting point. Also, if we wait til September, we can maybe have Shorty and maybe have Kali and Lynx there. :D

I vote September then!

I don't know about September at this point, some plans have changed and I may not be driving there, tbh. :(

I'm not the one who changed the plans, dude. My sister wants to drive her own car back to NY in October and I will not be able to go then.

Okay, then. Well, maybe a time when Kali and Lynx can join in on the fun.

Boston can be quite affordable if you know where to go. The Midtown Hotel is right in the center of all the action in Boston, while being fairly affordable.
The OFFICIAL Midtown Hotel - Boston Hotels - Boston Pet Friendly Hotel - Boston Hotel Packages - The Midtown Hotel (http://www.midtownhotel.com/)

The Colonnade is literally next door, but tends to charge 200 dollars more a night.

There's also a wonderful little Red Roof in 15 minutes out of town that you can usually get for under 100 dollars a night.

tl;dr I know Boston and could advise people if they are making a trip there :spin:

EDIT: In terms of travel, Amtrak is an affordable option if booked with enough time in advance.

EDITA: In terms of restaurants, I know a bunch, everything from small hole-in-the-wall places, to fairly expensive brand-names (I do enjoy me some Legal Seafood).

EDITGA: In terms of parties, we can get crunk at my place and confuse my roommates.

EDITJA: Yeah I'm really trying to sell Boston right now, what of it?

Boston would probably be too far north for me, though don't count my vote too highly as I may not be able to go at all. But if I can, my vote would be for Philly or NY.
