I was very apprehensive when I saw 'Skin' show up in Quina's Kitchen. I was even more scared when I saw Chris has made it.


Phew! Something we agree on. Deep-fried chicken skin (ala KFC or some other greaseball food chain) is utterly delicious, albeit very unhealthy and I wouldn't want to eat it that often. Never tried Pig skin though. Sounds... interesting.

I love getting those already cooked rotisserie chickens from like Wal Mart. I will eat the entire skin off of it as soon as it gets home. Used to piss my ex off to no end.

Fried Pork skin aka Chicharrones though.. Newp. Dun like it. Funny how it's a very Southern thing (cracklins', pork rinds, etc) but it's also a super Mexican thing. I think maybe just cooked a tad bit differently.

Isn't that what a lot of people do when they're eating -any- animal related foods? I mean, unless you're Michael Symon and have an extreme obsession with beef in general.

My kiddo would -not- eat meat for years until like she was 3. No chicken nuggets, no fish, no steak or ground beef, nada. Just bacon every now and then. She finally got into it and started liking it, but I think now, she's wanting to go back to being a vegetarian 'cuz the animals get killed before we eat them and she doesn't like that they get hurt like that.

I realize that by speaking up like this, I'm likely making myself a target. He gets off on abducting lesser-known members on the message board and posting the dishes he makes from their flesh for all to see.

The only way he won't get to me is if I become more popular. Otherwise nobody will notice when I go missing and he posts an eyeball sub or a big juicy thigh ham like any other day. "Just Chris being Chris again... I wonder where comma went."

Even more terrifying is the fact that I sent my address to someone on here because I won a Final Fantasy poster contest. I realize now it was all a ploy to acquire another lesser-known's address to add to the slaughter queue. This is a site-wide cannibalism conspiracy. In fact this entire forum is probably culpable. Oh hurr hurr hurr.

I made white chili with chicken today with bone in, skin-on chicken thighs and seared the skin sides with hot oil & butter to crisp them up. I peeled one off and fed it to Jay and he said he had an orgasm in his mouth - no salt or pepper needed. BOOYA!

I also made sopes (fried mexican corn dough cake things) and put the chili on top. It turned out super good. I took pics, will post in a bit.

EDIT:

Tomorrow I'm making chicken in mole verde with fry bread. Suck on that.
