I'm starting on the second part because it sounds interesting, and hell if it ain't. First track had me believing I was on my way to the moon. But also check out the sunny part one. Good if you like your reverb-drenched pet sounds pop interspersed with editing room noise.

If you like late-'60s/early-'70s Kinks or that kind of music or rock-pop in general or music in general, you have to listen to this. Have to. Gotta. Hafta hafta hafta gotta. Gotta gotta gotta gotta gotta gotta gotta GOTTA. The whole thing! Hafta gotta hafta! I defy you NOT to listen to the whole thing once you start. Okay, first track is kind of petsoundsish, but after that, it's a straight dose of Kinks goodness. Gotta.

3. Tchou! Hey! by Quetzalli

Here's a guy I know from France. He's very active musically and has contributed to a lot of acts in Paris, but this is some of his older solo stuff. It's a lot of strumming and a lot of distortion paired with an absolutely unique singing style. It's experimental in the same vein as Tall Dwarfs sometimes. Some of the songs are really catchy, while the others are just really neat to hear. I'll be discussing an album he came out with recently in a future post.

4. When I Was an Ice Skater by Nesey Gallons

This is the guy who did mixing, mastering, and sequencing on Circualtory System's Signal Morning. He's also played with The Music Tapes. And he's my chess buddy. His music is lo-fi aural candy, but it's also very contemplative and stirs up nostalgia you didn't know you had. It's very moving and relaxing. His singing is a little weird, but it grows on you because it has a beautiful, earnest quality to it.
