Are those screenshots official? Because, if they are I'm disappointed. I've been so excited for HD Remaster, but if those screens are anything to go by, my worst fear has been confirmed...


The FMVs are not HD encodes from the master files. Rather, they went the lazy route and just vertically cropped then upsized them from the PS2 encodes and they're going to look terrible as those screenshots show. (http://i2.minus.com/ihRlaK7KAwS6m.png) Good god, just look at Tidus's hair.

I hope and pray those aren't how they're actually going to look, because they took so much time making the in game look so good I'm actually a bit floored that they'd let the FMVs, in a game with so many FMVs, go out so shoddy looking. I mean they could have at least ran it through AVISynth to touch it up a bit if they were going to use the PS2 encodes. It's like they didn't even care about the FMVs, which I could understand if there were only one or two FMVs, but FFX has like 50 or something.
