Phase 4 is coming soon™

The haps will be happening. No reset to be had.

What will you be up too in Phase 4?

Kicking ass and chewing bubblegum!

Kipps the Elezen will be working through the game at a steady pace (no use rushing) with equal questing, gathering and grinding! Might give Arcanist a go once I get to Limsa! :jess:

The question is, what will Fablestay be up to?

Play as a Hyur. I used to think they were a bit too plain and I wanted something more fantasy-ish, so I went with Miqote in Phase 3, but then I met Kan-E-Senna (http://images.wikia.com/finalfantasy/images/e/e3/Kan-E-Senna.png) in the gale and I changed my mind. Yay for Hyurs! I may also finally try my hand at crafting. In all my time in XIV, both 1.x and ARR, I never even touched crafting so far... I don't even know how it works, or if it's worth the effort.

Well, once we've got confirmation that there will be no wipage happening fo'sure she will then commence much deliberation on whether to level CNJ or ARC first. Then she will be leveling away, she'd like to at least start the BRD/WHM stuff at 30 before launch. Occasionally taking a break for some crafting fun times - she will probably start with Carpentry first as it seemed less arduous to raise and has the most benefit for her starting 2 roles.

When does Phase 4 start?

Hmm... I think the first thing I will do is get my ship pass so I can travel from Thanlan to the Black Shroud and then pick up the relative quest line to get that awesome title The Seeker :D

Then I plan on taking my time and slowly learning all there is to learn about the lore of this world and immersing myself in it, I really want to take my time to read and do every quest and learn all there is to this world. After all the effort they have taken to make this world what it is I feel I owe it to the people who write out all this dialogue to invest my time in it.

1. Rush in the Free Company as a priority
2. Look into housing system if it's in place, find out how much the largest housing for Free Companies will cost, buy it if I have enough.
3. Get Aetheryte for the main three cities and some of the surrounding areas
4. Do everything I can to help out those that are new to the game. I want to party with them and get them up the levels ASAP...

Ouch!

How much gil do you have, BoB? The medium plot is projected to cost more than one million, I believe.

Edit: Still not going to have my desktop for Phase 4. ; ;

I've given MMORPGs a go in the past, but I tend to get bored very quicky because I don't know anyone. I haven't bothered with Phase 3 so much, because if your character gets wiped - then it seems a bit of a wasted investment. So for Phase 4 I would like to take my time to get to know people in the actual world. Then I might have an incentive to keep playing - otherwise playing an MMORPG without other people seems kinda pointless, and dull because the quests and story is usually abysmal nonsense.

My brain explodes from how much there will be to do.

Priority #1~
Spamming thru the main story to the point I can re-join Adder (and be able to wear my damn company gear!)

Next~
Completing all new CNJ Class Quests for new abilities/spells.
Properly gearing WHM (need new Belt and Bracelet for sure I noticed.)
Helping old XI friends who are new to our game.
Organizing retainers and inventory.
Completing all new THM Class Quests for new abilities/spells.
Dealing with cracked materia and gear.

So. Much. Stuff. To. Do.....!

Start as CNJ and do all the related class quest and main quest stuff up until I can join a GC (most likely the Adders). Probably pick up THM during my travels too. Actually, thinking about it, might just pick up every class as I travel cities just to have them unlocked. Anyways, do some side-leveling of THM when bored. Once in GC, get a chocobo. :D From there, work on main quest, dungeon running, annoying other Fat Chocobo members, etc...

My goal for open beta is to learn how to converse with people while playing on PS3.

I'll finally be able to play for at least part of the open beta. Like Del, my main plans will just be getting acquainted with the game, as I wasn't able to play much during the very end of 1.0.

This one actually is a pretty good goal.

For anyone who doesn't know, according to Squenix's plans, Phase 4 should start 1 to 2 weeks from the end of Phase 3. That's a lot sooner than I would have imagined. It's also only going to last 1 to 2 weeks.

* Circumstance may necessitate the deletion of character data.
Yeah... not too confident about Phase 4 characters not being deleted.

Just to lvl my archer up and get my brd. But there things I need to do before phase 4. Try to learn the keyboard shortcut for FFXIV. I remember in FFXI to two most important thing to me when communicating were Crtl+R and up arrow. They don't seem to work on this game anymore. I just figure out that instead of Crtl+R it now Alt+R and I still haven't figure out what if anything can repeat the last thing you typed. Like on certain quest specially the escort mission I got sick of retype /beckon over and over again where in FFXI all I would have to is type it once and push up arrow.

I still haven't figure out what if anything can repeat the last thing you typed. It's up-arrow. Not sure why it didn't work for you. Your cursor needs to be active in the text box.

While I wouldn't get overconfident, I don't think they would spend this long talking about how they intend to keep character data carrying over from phase four and then not go ahead with it unless there is some disaster. So far everything has been going ahead pretty smoothly so yeah, I think the character data shouldn't be an issue.

Basically you should play in phase four as if you're going to have everything you do remain done. There's no point in spending on the assumption they won't carry over data and then raging about how all your gil is gone come launch, that's for sure.

Still, there's a reason I've taken time off for launch and not phase four (although if things go ahead swimmingly I may end up being home for open beta anyway).

Typing on a PS3 feels different from PC. I have a laptop that would play the game on high setting very well, but I still prefer to play on my PS3 with the controller. idk I'm weird, I see how like way more people want to play on PC verus PS3 on this forum, but I prefer PS3.

People have used these in beta with lots of success. (http://www.amazon.com/PS3-Wireless-Keypad-Playstation-3/product-reviews/B001ENPDJA)

I am going to treat this as the launch, as they said it is basically a soft launch. That means lvling, story missions, and crafting. My XI LS is also going to be active so maybe a few dungeons.

Well
1) my primary goal will be to get my main to the stage when I can travel to the other cities and get all the Aetheryte are get the second class I need to 15.
4) reserve the different toons I plan to have, Like I plan to have 1 toon for my Dragoon/Monk/maybe Redmage my main, then one for black mage/white mage might go for paladin/warrior too(just to make sure I can get the names in case they're saved).
2) hopefully get onto the same server as the Fat Chocobo linkshell and connect with people. Do we know what server the linkshell will be on ?
3) maybe put effort into the crafting system
